Annual Report

Letter from the President

It has been another eventful year for Mercy High School

as we continue our momentum providing an all-girl
education for any deserving student who wants to
attend. Our recruitment efforts yielded a freshmen
class of 113, we dedicated two state-of-the-art science
laboratories, and our FIESTA 2019 was one of the largest
attended events in our history with $400,000 raised
for the Negotiated Tuition Program. Academically, our
66 graduates received more than $6 million in college
scholarships and were accepted at 59 higher education
institutions. Also our extracurricular activities, performing
arts agenda and leadership efforts afford every student
an opportunity to excel.

It is only through the generosity and support of you, our donors, that we can administer
an education that gives an opportunity for each girl to reach her full potential. As
you know, when it comes to the annual operating costs for Mercy we depend on the
support of our donors to cover the gap between tuition and the true cost of a Mercy
education. You have also stepped up by supporting new initiatives. This year we were
able to develop a new leadership and empowerment program for our girls called
Kaleidoscope. Not only were we able to leverage current community resources and
partners to make this happen, individuals and businesses donated to completely fund
this effort.

The budget charts continue to show that we are operating in the black. As our brand
slogan says, we have ‘Faith in her future.’ We also have faith in our donors who realize
what a wise investment Mercy High School is. Your generosity gives young women
the priceless gift of education. As a result of your donations, we have successful
alumnae in leadership positions, powerful professions, families and communities, and
whatever paths they have chosen, using their Mercy education to change the world.

Wishing you blessings as the summer ends,

Sr. Delores Hannon, RSM
