Conjunctions are used to connect words, phrases and clauses. There are coordinating conjunctions known as FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so), correlative conjunctions that connect two parts (both...and, either...or), and subordinating conjunctions that introduce dependent clauses (since, whenever, so that, unless, because).
