Almost every one with a smartphone, has a Facebook app on it, or at least an 
app that belongs to the Facebook Company.  
 
Facebook owns Instagram and Whatsapp, two platforms that are also very

Section 2:​ ​How To Create a Facebook Page For Your Busines​s 

 
Before you can advertise on Facebook, you need to first create a Facebook 
Page that is separate from your personal Facebook Profile. 
 
So in this section, you will learn how to easily create your Facebook page in 6 
simple steps. Before you start creating your business page, first log into your 
personal facebook profile. 
 
You cannot create a facebook page without first having a personal profile. 
 
 
Step 1: Fill out your basic business information. 
 
First log into your Facebook account and then go to pages and select “create 
pages” or simply click on the link below. 
 
https://www.facebook.com/pages/creation/ 
 
Once there, you’ll see two options — “Business or Brand” and “Community 
and Public Figure”. Since we are creating a Facebook Page for your business, 
click “Get Started” under the “Business or Brand” box.

​ here will be a ​few​ fields to fill out (some will appear only after you have

chosen a category): 
● Page Name 
● Categories 
● Address 
● Phone number 

Keep in mind that you ​can​ change the category later if you like, but you 
cannot change the name. 

Step 2: Add Profile picture and cover photo 

Immediately after filling the information above, Facebook will prompt you to 
upload your profile image and a cover photo. 

 
 
Use your business logo for the profile picture. 
​The cover photo is like the billboard for your business.

Make sure to design something that is eye catching. 

 
Once you have uploaded your Facebook Page’s profile picture and cover 
photo, you’ll be brought to your newly-created Facebook Page!

Step 3: Fill out your page information completely 
 
Right in the middle of your new Facebook Page, Facebook will show you a 
few tips to complete your Page set up.  
 
Clicking on “See All Page Tips” will bring up a pop-up with several steps to fill 
out your Page information. 
 
Alternatively, you can also go to the “Settings” and “Page Info” to fill out your 
Page information.

Here are the things to fill out: 

● Description – Let people know what your Page is about in 155 

characters. 
● Categories – Categories can help people find your Page. Choose up 
to three categories. 
● Contact information – If you have a business phone number, 
website, and email address, add them here. 
● Location – If you have a physical store, share your address here. 
● Hours – If you are only open on selected hours, state them here. 
● More – You can even state a price range (if you want). 

All of these details will appear on the About tab of your Facebook Page, 
where you can add even more information, such as your business’s story, 
awards, menu, etc 

Step 4: Create a username for your page 

Having a custom username makes it easier for people to find your Page and 
to easily share your page with others (e.g here is our own username 
https://www.facebook.com/RealMAcademy​ or just fb.me/RealMacademy)

If you have not set a username, the place where the arrow is pointing above, 
will be replaced with ​@username​ ​once you click on it, you will be able to 
choose a custom username for your page.  

If you do not see @username, it means you are not yet eligible to have a 
custom username, this will be resolved in a few days or weeks if you keep 
using the page. 

Step 5: Publish Your First Post 

Add content to your Page by publishing a post—a status update, a link, a 

photo, a video, an event, or a milestone. New, fresh content on your Page will 
make it look all the more enticing once new visitors come over to check it out.

That’s it, You have created your Facebook Page! 

But creating a Facebook Page is not all, you actually want to promote your 
business and make money with your Facebook Page.

Section 3:​ ​Setting Up Your Payment Method for Facebook Ads 

Before you can advertise with Facebook, you need to setup your method of 
payment. You can do this from your Facebook Ads manager @ 
https://www.facebook.com/adsmanager 

1. Go to your ​payment settings in Ads Manager​. 

2. In the Payment method section, click Add Payment Method. 

This will give you several options for making payments. If you are based in 
Nigeria, I will advise you to choose the local option, because it will enable you 
to pay with any local bank card. 

The local payment option is managed by 

a local payment company PAYU.  

Some people do not see this local 

payment option.  

There are few things you can do to 

ensure you have this option:

1. When setting up Facebook, make sure you selected your country, 

location as Nigeria. 
2. When selecting payment method, make sure the payment method is 
set to NIGERIA. 

Even if PayU option is not available for you, you can still pay with any online 
enabled bank card.  

For example, you can pay with your GTB MasterCard in naira. The dollar 
equivalent will automatically be deducted from your naira account each time 
you make payment. 

However, it is better to pay with the PayU option if you are in NIgeria, 
because it accepts all Nigerian bank cards, including verve. 

There are several other payment options including Paypal, Visa and 
MasterCard. Facebook usually add extra payment options depending on your 
location. 

So now, you have your payment method setup, in the next section, we shall 
now look at how to promote your business and make money with your 
Facebook Page.

Section 4:​ ​Making Money With Facebook 

Now, you have a dedicated Facebook page for your business, the next 
important question is how to use your Facebook page to promote your 
business and make money. 

And this is where many entrepreneurs fail.  

They think that all they have to do is start creating adverts and money will 
soon start rolling in. This is not the case. 

Why would anyone trust you after seeing your Facebook ad? 

Besides, people do not go to Facebook to buy products. They go on the 

platform to view their friends or interact with their communities. Basically, it 
is a social platform. 

Understanding this will help you to use Facebook successfully in promoting 

your business. 

For example, our page Millionaires Academy grew from zero to over 100,000 
fans in less than 2 years. ​Most of our fans did not join any of our programs till 
after one or two years.

So the first thing you want to do with your business page, is to ​create 
awareness of your brand.  

There are many ways of doing this, example Content Marketing, Facebook 
Contests, Shout Outs and Using Events. Here is an example of my Video

Using these strategies, what you are doing is to first discover your prospects 
(or potential customers), then let your prospects know you, like you, trust

you before patronizing your product or service. At this point, those who do 
not need your product/service, or simply don’t like you, will drop out. 

This is actually good, because eventually it will help you save money. It is a 
kind of filter funnel, and at each stage, those who do not require your 
product/service will drop out while your core prospects gets to the end of the 
funnel and eventually patronize you.  

It is only after identifying your prospects that you can now spend real money 
to advertise to them.

Even if your potential prospects do not patronize you immediately maybe 

due to lack of cash at the moment, you then use what is known as retargeting 
to keep reminding them of your products, until they buy. 

Retargeting is so powerful that it can have a return on investment of up to 

1700% ! 

To understand the power of retargeting, you have to first understand the 

rule of 7.

Section5: ​The Rule of 7 

The Rule of 7 is a marketing principle that states that your prospects need to 
come across your offer at least seven times before they really notice it and 
start to take action.  

Your prospects can be exposed to your offer significantly more than seven 
times, but they need to see it at least seven times.  

This helps them remember you amid an overwhelming amount of marketing 

messages and other information and positions you to get better results from 
your marketing efforts. 

This principle has been extensively researched and continues to hold its 
ground. This is why retargeting those who has shown interest in your 
product/service, can be a game-changer for your business. 

So in summary, to use facebook page for marketing your business, start by: 

● Creating brand awareness using content marketing, contests etc 

● Identifying your prospects 
● Promoting to your prospects and collecting contacts using leads ads 
and traffic ads

● Retargeting your audience 

This is the basics of using Facebook to make money. If you already know how 
to use some of these strategies listed in the guide, like promotions, content
