Firm Overview:
Private Advisors (“PA”) is a specialized investment platform with more than $5.0 billion in assets under
management. The firm was founded in 1997 and has offices in Richmond (headquarters), New York, Cleveland
and Austin. The Firm is an affiliate of New York Life Insurance Company and is comprised of approximately
70 employees, including 35 investment professionals. Our clients include mission driven organizations like
endowments and foundations, as well as corporate and private pension plans, family offices and insurance
companies.
PA sources, underwrites, structures and manages investments in small to mid‐sized managers and direct
transactions across the liquidity spectrum. Our integrated platform has expertise in Small Company Private
Equity, Real Assets, Private Credit and Long/Short Equity. The long‐term nature of our capital and range of
expertise provides origination and diligence advantages that benefit our investors. We build commingled and
customized portfolios on behalf of investors that seek to preserve and grow capital.

Position Description:
Investment Professional – Small Company Private Equity Fund Investing
Experience:
Minimum of two years of fund investment experience required; experience in secondary and/or co‐
investment strategies preferred

The Opportunity:
Play an integral role on PA’s primary fund investment team, driving sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of
Small Company Private Equity fund investments, which PA defines as buyout, growth equity and
distressed/turnaround strategies typically raising funds less than $500 million, investing in North America.
The Investment Professional will work closely with the junior and senior team across all stages of the
investment process, as well as with the broader organization for marketing, client service, or other needs.
Travel required.
Essential Functions:
1. Diligence Support
a. Lead or support prospective manager meetings / calls and communicate
recommendations to team
b. Lead track record analysis and portfolio value creation analysis

c. Support team in on‐site due diligence
d. Prepare due diligence materials and investment memorandums
e. Present findings to team and Investment Committee
2. Performance Reporting & Portfolio Monitoring
a. Support senior team in coverage of annual investor meetings and advisory board
meetings/calls
b. Lead quarterly performance reporting
c. Lead quarterly monitoring and reporting of portfolio company performance
d. Support Portfolio Analytics team in development of pacing/projection models
3. Sourcing
a. Use network to identify attractive fund investment opportunities and establish
relationship with PA
b. Support platform wide sourcing efforts, driving deal flow across private market
strategies
c. Support forward calendar and pipeline management
d. Own industry/strategy sourcing landscapes for subset of industries/strategies
e. Drive accountability throughout team re: utilization of CRM/tracking of sourcing
metrics
f. Represent PA at subset of high priority industry conferences
4. Marketing & Client Service Support
a. Support Marketing & Client Service in requests from existing and prospective investors
b. Support Client Service in quarterly reporting requirements
5. Organization
a. Support special project work as needed, including development of PA Advisory
Committee and Annual Meeting materials
b. Support Analyst recruiting efforts
Preferred Experience/Skills:
1. Four‐year college degree; preference for Finance, Economics, or Accounting
2. Minimum of two years of experience investing in private equity funds required; experience in
secondary and/or co‐investment strategies preferred
3. Track record of successfully supporting or driving the sourcing, diligence and monitoring of
private equity fund investments
4. Ability to work collaboratively with junior and senior team members in a deal team setting
5. Strong work ethic
6. Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
7. Strong analytical capabilities; ability to gather, organize and analyze data effectively
8. Strong attention to detail
9. Strong written and oral communication skills
10. Strong problem‐solving and organizational skills; must be a self‐starter, able to prioritize and
multi‐task
