Firm Overview:
Private Advisors is a specialized investment platform with more than $5.0 billion in assets under management.
The firm was founded in 1997 and has offices in Richmond (headquarters), New York, Cleveland and Austin.
The Firm is an affiliate of New York Life Insurance Company and is comprised of approximately 70 employees,
including 35 investment professionals.
Private Advisors sources, underwrites, structures and manages investments in small to mid‐sized managers
and direct transactions across the liquidity spectrum. Our integrated platform has expertise in Long/Short
Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets and Small Company Private Equity. The long‐term nature of our capital and

Position Description:
Analyst – Small Company Private Equity Fund Investing
Department:
Private Equity

Richmond, VA
The Opportunity:
To work in the alternative investment management industry at a high quality, growing firm and gain exposure
to the private equity asset class. This is a 2 – 3 year, pre‐MBA role. The Analyst will support the fund
investment team in the sourcing, evaluation and monitoring of private equity fund investments, working
closely with senior investment professionals. Some travel required.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing
a. Own daily review of industry news, entering new funds into proprietary database
b. Own database management, including generation of team’s pipeline and forward
calendar
c. Attend prospective manager meetings / calls and own generation of meeting notes
2. Diligence Support
a. Support deal team in initial assessment of investment opportunities
b. Own track record analysis and portfolio value creation analysis
c. Prepare due diligence materials and investment memorandums

3. Performance Reporting & Portfolio Monitoring
a. Own quarterly performance reporting
b. Own quarterly monitoring and reporting of portfolio company performance
c. Own weekly tracking of call and distribution activity
4. Marketing & Client Service Support
a. Support marketing and client service in requests from existing and prospective
investors
b. Support client service in quarterly reporting requirements
5. Organization
a. Support special project work as needed
Preferred Experience/Skills:
1. Four‐year college degree; preference for Finance, Economics, or Accounting
2. Demonstrated interest in and intellectual curiosity for investing
3. Strong work ethic
4. Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
5. Ability to gather, organize and analyze data effectively
6. Strong attention to detail
7. Strong written and oral communication skills
8. Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative
9. Strong problem‐solving and organizational skills; must be able to prioritize but also multi‐task
10. Ability to work in a team‐oriented culture and maintain open communication with team
members
