According to the thesis of Carlo Magno “There was a ground swell to move
from paper signature and documents because the task of record management
was huge. We had file cabinets full of backup materials. By converting from
manual process, we would be able to eliminate a lot of paper. We could go further
with the automation of manual process and remove manual paperwork if people
trusted the technology.

Point-of-sale systems have replaced traditional cash registers, largely for

functionality reasons. POS systems, as they are sometimes called, are relatively
easy touse and help provide valuable data for important decision makers. In order
to keep upwith the record-keeping needs of small and mid-sized businesses, a
good point-of-salesystem is necessary. Web-based point-of-sale systems are
preferred over software-based possystems because they are easily upgradeable,
and feature access from multiple computers (Carter, 2012)

According to Kaye Morris (2010), manual inventory management system can help sales
and production managers control costs by identifying lost sales due to inventory
shortages; inventory overrides on products that are not selling; losses due to
employee’s theft or damage.Implementing an inventory management system can take a
large amount of time depending on the size and diversity of inventory.

According to A. Bianca (2012), Sales and Inventory Monitoring System can help the
company to make strategic business decision. This system collects company’s data to
control the stocks and determines the level of production according to the demand. This
system gives the company a competitive advantage by linking different automated
processes and can exploit these linkages. Therefore, Sales and inventory monitoring
system will help the management to make a rapid decision regarding with the stocks,
production scheduling, material purchases, pricing, logistics and other decisions to
increase revenues and meet the customer’s demand.

According to Gemma Navarro (2012) Computer is general purpose device which

can be programmed to carry out a finite set arithmetic or local operation.
Computer has a big rule in our nation today because of our technology. Wherever
you go computer still exist, especially in business it makes the procedure easy
and secure by programming the manual system into a computerizing system. The
rule of technology in our life today has a big impact.

According to J.De Leon and M. Ferrer (2009) Under the Koread RedGinseng
Enterprise Sales and Inventory System, the researchers came up with
acomputerized sales and inventory system. The proponents used database
toeasy access of files and for easier and faster processing of the selling
andinventory transaction. The program was designated to generate reports such
asmonthly reports, inventory reports, sales invoice and list of items.

According to S. Angeles (2016), Shop Keep is the best pick of POS for retailers
because it is a cloud based service applications. Services or resources made
available to users on demand via internet from a cloud computing provider’s
servers. This POS system for retailers comes with a ton of useful features. Offers
plenty of tools to help the retailers to save time and boost sales, spend time
growing the business and less time worrying back-end processes. Therefore, this
system help the retailers to easily manage inventories, gather information, boost
sales, manage employees and reports can be generated straight from the point of
sale system

According to O. Abisoye, F. Boboye and B. Abisoye (2013) inventory is often the

largest priced asset of a business. Keeping the inventory also means keeping a
tab on the realizable value, market value of all the stocks, production and finished
stock. Manual system of inventory management system will leads to human
errors during counting and recording and in case of disaster like fire or flood or
poor communication, the inventory records will be damaged and irretrievable.
Therefore, this research has designed a Computerized Inventory Management
System to ascertain stock level, when to order for more products, updates of
transactions and goods were supplied to implement the possible solutions

LOCAL STUDY

According to R. Maliwat and M. Beronio (2013), the existing Sales and Inventory
System for Standard Hollow Blocks consumes a lot of time and effort in making
transaction and retrieving records since it is done manually. A proposed
Computerized Inventory System is more efficient, accurate, convenient, secure
and reliable than the manual system. The information or records about the
product and sales can be easily monitored and accessed. It can maximize not
only the user’s productivity but also the company’s business capabilities.
Therefore, Computerized Inventory System can improve the transaction process
of a company and it can resolve errors that are occurring on the existing system
