Literature Review

"We need technology in every classroom and in every student's and teacher's hand, because it is
the pen and paper of our time, ant it is the lens through which we experience much of our world",
said David Warlick, a prominent author and educator. Here he demonstrates that technology is an
integral part of the learning process, only if technology is at the fingertips of students and
teachers alike. However, at Presentation College, like many other schools throughout the
country, they were simply unprepared to receive this technological upgrade. Although at the
time, the Ministry of Education trained 1100 teachers in Digital Literacy, few were able to
implement their skillset due to the fact that Secondary Schools had little to no technological
apparatus in the form of Smart TVs and projectors in place, as the Ministry only supplied 500
projectors and televisions to Primary Schools instead. Teachers at Presentation College therefore
resorted to the old fashioned "Chalk and Board" method as they were unable to blend current
teaching methods with the more technologically advanced due to those hindrances. Furthermore,
these blunders attested to the fact that Presentation College was not equipped to utilize these
laptops.

Was presentation college as a school equipped to use these laptops hand in hand with current
teaching methods to help students?
