Project Description
Classrooms on campus are being upgraded to reflect current teaching and
learning technologies. However, faculty have not received training to provide the most
effective integration of the technologies into their lessons and assignments. This
initiative will provide professional development to faculty so that they are fully aware of
the benefits of effectively using technology-enhanced learning environments. Faculty
will be able to achieve teaching goals that align with current instructional practices, and
students will have a greater opportunity to meet the needs of a competitive job market if
they have innovative technology skills. To achieve these goals, this initiative provides a
fully equipped training simulation room for faculty to practice.

In the area below please provide the following information related to your
proposal:

1. Justification: How this project will focus on academic or instructional

technology and why it is important to your department/division.

This project will focus on training faculty on the use of innovative

technology currently installed in learning spaces on campus. Faculty will
receive training on integrating the technologies into their lessons which will
provide students with skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

2. Student Impact: How many students will this project and in what way (e.g.
the department has 1,000 majors who will all benefit from funding of this
project by being exposed to/developing experience with this new
technology. This will be critical to their success/provide a competitive
advantage in the workforce upon graduation).

All on-campus students have access to learn in classrooms that are

equipped with currently-installed, advanced technologies. Exposure to the
technology will equip students with the skills and competitiveness needed
to succeed in a technology-driven job market.

3. Curriculum Impact: How will this project impact the Curriculum delivered
by your department/division (e.g. We will be able to teach skill "X" more
efficiently/with higher impact/etc.)

Integrating technology into the curriculum, including Solstice Pods and

Project-Based learning environments, will provide faculty and students
with an engaging learning experience with additional collaborative
opportunities through technological applications.

4. Timeline: What is your proposed timeline to implement assuming funding

of this project.

14 months.

5. Partial funding: with partial funding would you be able to acquire additional
