Have you ever searched for information on the web or on your mobile device and

didn't find exactly what you were looking for?

Well, that's where YOU come in!

You may have the opportunity to provide services on search projects helping to improve

the quality of content displayed to

search users just like yourself!

This guide will serve as your roadmap toward becoming a search evaluator.

Be Proactive!
To successfully pass qualification and begin work on the project, you will need to
carefully follow all instructions in this guide, study the project guidelines,
complete required tasks, meet all deadlines, and pass a quiz to demonstrate your
understanding of the project objectives and guidelines.

It is important you proactively note and meet any deadlines that are communicated
to you as the qualification process is over a set time and failure to meet the
deadlines may see you removed from the qualification process.

Expectations
•Although some projects allow the use of an assistant, Project Shasta is evaluated
solely by the account holder. Sharing accounts is strictly prohibited. Also, creating
multiple accounts for one rater is prohibited, and that rater will be banned.

•All work, including the assessment tasks, must be performed on a non-shared

computer that you control and in a non-public space (i.e. working on public
computer terminals, or in public spaces like libraries, cafes, or hotel lobbies is
strictly prohibited).

•If you successfully complete the assessment, you may be extended an offer to
work 15 hours per week. Further details will be included in the project invitation.
Assessment Duration
•The final qualification exam should be completed no later than seven (7)
days from the date of this email. Please note failure to complete the assessment
within this time may see you removed from the qualification process.

•The test is in 2 parts: theoretical (questions) and practical (tasks).

•A commitment of 10-12 hours is expected during this qualification process.

•Our schedule is very precise and we are unable to grant exceptions in most cases.

The goal of the Shasta Maps program is to improve the relevancy and data accuracy of
map search results from a major mobile platform.

On this project, you will be evaluating map results that display on a mobile search

platform and use a variety of research methods to determine relevance to the user’s

search as well as the accuracy of the data.

To do this, you will use the client guidelines, this interactive guide, and the client tool.

Your evaluations help educate the algorithms and provide users with more relevant and

useful information.
