I. Introduction

The history of health education dates back to the 19th century, it was not until the
1940s that the field began evolving as a distinct discipline. Over time, health education’s
theory and practice base have broadened from focusing on one-to-one and mass media
behavioral interventions to encompass responsibility for policies, systems, and
environments that affect population health. In the early 21st century, the terms health
education and health promotion (i.e., the latter including an ecological approach) are
often used interchangeably in the United States, while internationally health promotion is
used as an overarching concept that includes health education. Health educators employ
a core set of competencies, regardless of the diverse practice settings in which they work
(i.e., schools, universities, health departments, community-based organizations, health-
care settings, worksites, and international organizations). This bibliography is organized
around major areas of health education practice, such as assessing, planning,
implementing, managing, and evaluating health education or health promotion programs,
services, and interventions. It includes historical and philosophical foundations, and
development of its professionalism and ethics.
Health educators are stalwarts in the fight for social justice and believe that the health
of a population should be a priority in any society. Health education is the process by
which individuals and group of people learn to promote, maintain and restore health. Any
combination of learning experiences designed to facilitate voluntary adaption of behavior
conductive to health. The word designed refers to planned, integral, intended activities
rather than casual, incident trivial experience. Health education a process aimed at
encouraging people to want to be healthy, to know to stay healthy, to do what can they
individually and collectively to maintain health and to seek help when needed.

II. Statement of the Problem

This study aims to know the issue regarding the Health Education and the various of
problem was observed and need to be solved. The following statement of the problem
was the current condition faced by the country:

 The tools for dealing with the health conditions of today are not as specific and
precise as those that have been available for the contagious diseases.
3
 Present-day health problems differ from those with which public health
traditionally has been concerned in the amount of individual understanding
necessary to prevent and cure the diseases or to avoid accidents.
III. Objectives

The following are the objectives:

 To encourage people to adopt and sustain health promoting life style and
practices.
 To promote the proper use of health service that is available for them.
 To arouse interests, provide new knowledge, improve skills and change their
attitudes in making rational decision to solve their own problems.
 To stimulate individual and community self-reliance and participation to health
development.
 To inform the public about medical advances, their uses and their limitations.
 To make health an asset valued by the community.
IV. Alternative Courses of Action

The following are the courses of action that can answer the Health Education issue.

 Health Promotion and Education in Schools

A health promoting school is one that constantly strengthens its capacity as

a healthy setting for living, learning and working. Health education builds students’
knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes about health.

Advantages:

 Students grow and learn in a safe, caring, responsive and empowering

environment.
 Health-promoting schools, view health holistically, addressing the physical,
social, cultural, mental, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of health
comprehensive program
 It motivates students to improve and maintain their health, prevent disease,
and reduce risky behaviors.

4
 Conducting Seminar and Training in every Community

The ultimate goal of a Seminar and Training program is not just to increase
the skills of health care workers, but also to help health care providers recognize
and report problems that could impact the health, safety and well-being of all
individual who require health care.

Advantages:

 If the people take the seminar about the Health Education, they learn more
about it.
 The people will see the good of Health Education.
 The people earn the learning from the Training or Seminar.
 They can prevent the illness if we have known the Health Education.
V. Evaluating Course of Alternatives

Among the two alternative course of action, I therefore conclude that “Conducting
Seminar and Training in every Community” is the slightly risky, because it favors the
community and not the risky. While “Health Promotion and Education in School” is the
more risky since it undergo a long process.

5
Among the two alternative course of action, I therefore conclude that “Conducting
Seminar and Training in every Community” and “Health Promotion and Education in
School”, is both slightly Costly since the government have an enough budget for this to
be finance.

Among the two alternative course of action, I therefore conclude that “Conducting
Seminar and Training in every Community” and “Health Promotion and Education in
School”, is both most beneficial, because it all favors the nation, if it will be all
implemented.

Among the two alternative course of action, I therefore conclude that “Conducting
Seminar and Training in every Community” and “Health Promotion and Education in
School”, is the easiest to implement since it undergoes a short process and it will benefit
the nation or all community.

Result:

The highest total accumulated point score should be the recommendation and from
what the table shows that “Conducting Seminar and Training in every community” got the
highest.

VI. Recommendation

Conducting Seminar and Training in every Community can answer all the problems
faced by the country. Seminar and training are important tools for informing their families
and community with a greater understanding of the safety and health program itself, so
that they can contribute to its development and implementation. Health education is one
of strategy for implementing health promotion and disease prevention programs. Health
Education presents information to target populations on particular health topics, including
the health benefits/threats they face, and provides tools to build capacity and support
behavior change in an appropriate setting. The process of sensitizing and empowering
the community in such a way that they can identify and prioritize their needs and
objectives. This will help them develop confidence and find resources through
collaborative practices and community participation. Organizing means bringing the
community together for collective action. Community groups of all ages will require special

health training in order to be able to tackle health issues. And during a training session,
you should undertake the activities.

VII. Implementation

The conducting seminar and training is a written document that lists plans for
achieving health improvements in the community. This plan is written by the community
coalition and typically includes establishing and clarifying desired outcomes, goals,
objectives, activities. A conducting seminar and training every community offers
deliverables and focuses on doing work in the community to support priority health needs.
