THE PPST RESOURCE PACKAGE
October 22 – 23, 2018

NARRATIVE REPORT

Villa Aurora Elementary School Teachers had conducted in- Service Training for
Teachers entitled SCHOOL-BASED TRAINING ON PEDAGOGICAL APPROACHES AND
SRATEGIES cum PREPARATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS. It was held on October
21-25, 2019 at Capalonga Central Elementary School. This meaningful activity is directed to
ensure teachers continuous professional development.

On the first day of the training, the participants started to register at 8:00 in the morning
that was facilitated by members of the registration committee. The participants are nine
teachers from Villa Aurora Elementary School. The opening program started at 9:00 in the
morning through the singing of Hymno SDO Camarines Norte, it was followed by an invocation
via multi- media presentation. The welcome talk was given by Mrs. Evangiline C. Regidor, key
teacher from Villa Aurora Elementary School. The presentation of participants was carried out
by Mrs. Rosely S.Guevarra Teacher from Villa Aurora Elementary School. Mrs. Juliet O. De La
Cruz, a principal of Villa Aurora Elementary School gave his meaningful message about the
School based training on Pedagogical Approaches and Strategies cum Preparation or
instructional Materials. Then, Mrs. Juliet O. De La Cruz oriented the participants. She presented
the training matrix through the powerpoint presentation. After the health break, the General
Information on D.O. No. 47, s. 2018 was tackled by Mam Juliet. She explained that the PPST
sets clear expectations of teachers along well-defined career stages of professional
development from beginning to distinguished. It engages also the teachers to embrace ongoing
professional learning for their professional development to enhance their own learning provide a
framework of uniform measures to assess teacher performance, and a basis for building public
confidence and support for the work of teachers. She also mentioned that the PPST shall also
be used as basis for all learning and development programs for teachers to ensure that they are
properly equipped to effectively implement the K to 12 program, it can also be used for the
selection and promotion of teachers, and all performance appraisals for teachers shall be based
on this set of standards. After this, we took our lunch break.

We resume at 1 in the afternoon, with an energizer and then the speaker proceeded
discussing her topic about the Teacher Professional Development Framework in which she
discussed the career path that a teacher should take from the beginning stage to distinguished
stage. She also discussed the 4 Career Stages of a teacher from the beginning stage to
proficient stage then to highly proficient stage and lastly to the distinguished stage. She
discussed the traits that a teacher must have to reach a certain stage and the ways to reach
those stages. Then, we had a short health break before resuming to the teacher assessment
that mam Juliet gave to us. After the teacher assessment Mam Juliet tackled the management
of learning in which she discussed how we can enhance our strategies in managing our learners
to further improve the effectiveness of our lesson. After that, Mam Juliet gave an orientation on
the use of the PPST resource package, she discussed the different uses of the PPST Resource
Package and as to how we can maximize its uses. She also discussed the different features of
the resource package, she discussed which domain each package belongs to and what kind of
information each package has.

On the second day of the training, Mam Juliet started with an energizer then she gave us
a template in which we used the PPST Resource Package to make a plan to further enhance
our strategies in teaching. Each participant made their own output about the use of PPST
Resource Package. After the workshop, we had a lunch break then we resume at 1:00 pm to
prepare and present our work plan. One representative from Villa Aurora and one
representative from Camacho-Aler presented their workplan. We had a short health break then
we resume to have our open forum. After the open forum and the clearing house, we proceeded
to the closing program to formally close the 2 days training about the PPST Resource Package.
