Scales

-Practice with both rolls and single notes to familiarize yourself with each scale
-Practice starting with both right hand and left hand
-Practice in order that’s written out (Circle of 4ths):
C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, B, E, A, D, G
-The first note of the next scale is the 4th note of the scale before it (eg. F is the 4th note
in the C scale, Bb is the 4th note in the F scale, G is the 4th note of D scale etc)
-Practice Chromatically (going up a half step)
-Remember key signatures! Also happens in circle of 4ths

No Flats or Sharps:
C Major

1 Flat:
F Major

2 Flats:
Bb Major

3 Flats:
Eb Major

4 Flats:

Ab Major

5 flats:
Db Major

6 Flats:
Gb Major

7 Flats or 5 Sharps:
C Flat or B Major

4 Sharps:
E Major

3 Sharps:
A Major

2 Sharps:
D Major

1 Sharp:
G Major
