Trend in the Philippines A total of 336,114 Dengue cases were reported nationwide from January 1 to September 28, 2019, This is 114% higher compared to the same period last year (187,168). Figure 1 shows weekly data of reported dengue cases in 2019 compared to alert and epidemic thresholds, Figure 1. Geographic Distribution Table 1 shows that majority ofthe cases were from the following regions: Region IV-A CALABARZON (55,388 of 16%), Region ‘I (51,522 oF 15%), NCR (26,816 or 8%), Region Il (26,007 or 8%) and Region X (22,784 or 7%). Out of the tested, 875 (1%) cases were confirmed via PCR, Figure 4. Dengue 1 and 2 (two cases) and Dengue 1 and Dengue 4 (one case) were identified as mixed serotype. Majorty of the confirmed Dengue cases were from the following regions: Region IVA (147 or 17%), Region IX (141 or 16%), NCR (100 or 11%), and Region Il (98 or 11%) (Table 2), Table 2.
