Oscillations continue

October 25, 2019 Nifty daily: 11583.9

The Nifty opened gap-up only to face selling pressure

at higher levels. The index induced the bears to
get into action as it opened near the hourly upper
Bollinger Band and near the upper end of a falling
channel on the hourly chart. Consequently, the index
dived down to test 11500. With the fall, the Nifty once
again tested the lower end of the falling channel,
which promptly pushed the index back in the green.
Overall, it turned out to be a week of consolidation
for the Nifty after a sharp recovery in the previous
week. The hourly chart shows that consolidation is a
60-minute
healthy sign for the larger uptrend as it has resulted
in a bullish Flag pattern. The breakout level on the
upside is near 11650, beyond which 11790 will be the
key level to keep an eye on. On the flipside, the low
point of the recent consolidation i.e. 11490 will act as
a key support for Nifty.

Other technical observations

On the daily chart, the Nifty is above the 20-day

moving average (DMA) and the 40-DEMA of 11433
and 11331, respectively. The momentum indicator is
bullish on the daily chart. Market breadth

On the hourly chart, the Nifty is between the 20-

hour moving average (HMA) and the 40-HEMA of Advances 1084 736
11592 and 11564, respectively. The hourly momentum Decline 1350 1012
indicator is in bullish mode. The market breadth was Unchanged 159 391
negative with 736 advances and 1012 declines on the Volume (Rs.) 2,607.66 Cr 40,398.09 Cr
National Stock Exchange.
