Thematic analysis of AMERICAN CHICK IN SAUDI

ARABIA

I am going to work on a novel by Jean Sasson. It’s based on her memoir.

In this story she is showing all of us two different cultures and their life
styles. She is from United Kingdom and came Saudi Arabia for her dream
job. When she came here she found everything new for her and it really
was because she came from a very different culture her life style her
norms are different from them. But she adjust herself according to them.
She lived two years of her life there . What should have been a two-year
stay turns into a life-changing adventure spanning over a decade. Jean is
plunged into the hidden lives of the veiled women in Riyadh, where
women are locked in luxurious homes and fundamentalist mutawas
terrorize the streets. Jean meets women from all walks of life--a feisty
bedouin, an educated mother, and a conservative wife of a high-ranking
Saudi--all who open a window into Saudi culture and help to reshape
Jean's worldviews. What follows is a heartfelt, inspiring memoir about
Jean's new-found conviction to fight for women's rights in a country of
limited personal freedom.
After a long trip of improving the world by making new laws, inventing
new things and changing old thoughts and considerations, women were
all the while battling each minute and they were all the while searching
for their rights. Women's liberation has produced a continuous flow of
discussions everywhere throughout the world and it has come to take
care of women's issues with the end goal to put a conclusion to their
shameful treatment. It was the voice of women’s in the occasions when
they were not either ready to talk or to express their emotions and
wishes. The expression "Woman's rights" has a long history; it speaks
about women issues and endurance notwithstanding their fantasies in
equivalent social orders controlled by man i.e. his capacity, standards,
wishes and requests. Women have customarily been dehumanized by a
male overwhelmed society, which they call man hierarchal society; and
that has been in every case better to take care of business. The term
feminism a history in English connected with women activism from the
late nineteenth century to the present, it is helpful to recognize
women's activist thoughts or convictions from women's activist political
developments, for even in periods where there has been no
noteworthy political activism around women subordination, people
have been worried about and guessed about equality for women. In
spite of the agonizing isolation and the hard disparity, women could
stand up each time and they could talk and express their issues,
sentiments and wishes. Likewise, women could spread it everywhere
throughout the world, making an image of equality, and making all
individuals trust that people merit uniformity in all chances. The
concept of feminism has changed with passage of time and different
waves and types have been introduced for the need of time. There are
different types of feminism such as liberal feminism, Radical feminism,
Socialist feminism, and Black feminism. There were different waves
introduced such as the first wave, Second wave of feminism, third wave
of feminism, and fourth wave of feminism. This concept is including in
the American Chick Saudi Arabia by Jean Sasson.
