My journey towards Electronics had begun when I first saw Remote Control
automated car. This embedded technology enthralled me. Then with the growing
age, I came across various other electronic components and gadgets. The
mechanism and ideology of every gadget captivated and attracted me towards it,
which made my mind to pursuit of excellence in this region.
The first year of engineering course consigned to teach us about those subjects
which forms the very base of any engineering. These subjects are Engineering
Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Drawing and
Graphics, Elements of Electrical Engineering and C/C++ languages in Computer
Science. To a certain extent, these subjects were just a mere revision of what I
had learnt in my 12th Science. Since I believe in learning and augmenting my
knowledge, so with the culmination of first year, I joined ADANI GAS LIMITED
as an intern to get an overview of what company does (both technology and
management wise). By this company I got a good knowledge about Data
Acquisitions and Logic Controllers. With this I entered my electronics career.
Second year was a root of the core electronics and communication and it
involved subjects like Signals and Systems, Linear System Control, Network
Analysis, higher order Mathematics, Electronic Devices and Circuits, etc. With the
termination of 3rd Semester, I joined ADANI POWER LIMITED as an intern.
There, I learnt about the entire power system and flow control using SCADA,
PLCs. I got a very good platform to deal with complex circuits. With the
termination of Second year, I joined HITACHI HI-REL as an intern wherein I was
placed under a project on UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY under
production department. The knowledge I got was complete and core electronics.
Third year took a deep turn into advanced electronics incorporating subjects like
Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Digital Communication, Digital Signal
Processing, VLSI, Robotics, Digital System Design, etc.
I worked very hard on these subjects and also made projects related to them.
One of them was Password Based Door Locking using Microcontroller. The basic
intention of the project is to unlock a system like door (from a cupboard or high
security system) via a smart coding system, hence the name intelligent code lock
system. The project is based on actions of microcontroller (AT89C51). What
happens is that a minimum of 5V VDD is given to the microcontroller via 230V
power supply which is stepped down to 12V using a step down transformer. The
interfacing of switches with the controller decides the glow of one of the LED,
which indicates the status of the code if it is right or wrong. In addition, a buzzer
is added in order to differentiate between the wrong and right code. A crystal
oscillator is used to determine the frequency operation of the controller IC. So, in
general, the controller gives the signals to all the components and gives the
performance accordingly. My project was highly appreciated by my professors
and Head of the Department. Other projects are Human Activity Recognition,
Touch Screen Directed Robot, Hand Gesture Recognition, BPSK modulator using
OPAMP, etc. To an extent, most of my projects fall under EMBEDDED SYSTEMS,
which shows my great interest into it. Apart from my academic projects, I had
also made a LINE FOLLOWING ROBOT, which got credentials from Technophilia
competition held at IIT BOMBAY, and I had received certificate for the same.
During my academics, I have also visited many companies, which are based on
electronics to know more about the practical side of theoretical lessons. My visits
include companies like Hitachi Hi-Rel, EQDC, ISRO and Sahajanand Laser
Technology Ltd. Apart from my course curriculum, I was always an active
learner. I had chosen Robotics as my institute elective and had completed online
MOOC course on the same from Queensland University of Technology, Australia
and had received certificate for the same.
Apart from academics, I had been an active club member and an active
participant. I had represented the Student Branch in IEEE club of Nirma
University under Gujarat Section. I was one of the members of the team of IEEE
that hosted ALL INDIA STUDENT CONGRESS (AISC)-2015. I had also
represented ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ORGANISATION (ECO)
club of my own Department as a treasurer. As part of ECO day celebration, we
distribute sweets and cloths to needy every year. We also visit slums to encourage
their children to join schools. Talking about participation, I had been the winner of
a technical event in the national level Techno-Management Colloquium. Further I
had involved myself into various cultural activities and social activities. I had
earned second prize in-group dancing competition. Moreover, I had been a part
of RADDI CAMPAIGN organized by Make A Difference Organization (MAD) to
collect stationary for the underprivileged.
