TEXT

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all Flight Crew of the main changes of FCOM, QRH revisions dated 19
JAN 2016 and FCTM revision dated 01 DEC 2015.This revision will be available onboard in the coming days.
Pilots are requested to download this new revision of the FCOM and QRH using the link joined to this bulletin.
They can also get a hard copy of the new FCOM and QRH (CD-ROM) available at the dispatch offices.

The main changes are indicated below:

1. ENHANCEMENT OF THE UNRELIABLE SPEED INDICATION PROCEDURE

1.1. EFFECT ON THE MANUALS

• FCOM: PRO-ABN-34 Unreliable Speed Indication
• QRH: ABN-34 Unreliable Speed Indication
• FCTM: AO-34 "Unreliable Speed lndic/ADR Check Proc" QRH Procedure

1.2. SUMMARY OF THE MODIFICATION

The Unreliable Speed Indication procedure has been updated for all A320 aircraft:
— To enhance the Pitch & Thrust tables:
• New layout to provide pitch and thrust values for a given aircraft weight and flight level,
• Re-computation of pitch and thrust values to provide:
• Rounded values for all flight phases,
• Rounded values with only two pitch values for the level flight in CLEAN configuration table.

To provide the Pitch & Thrust tables for all flight phases whether the BUSS is installed or not.
— To clarify the flying technique to maintain the aircraft in level flight.
— To indicate that the flight crew may keep flight path stabilized for troubleshooting without requiring a
systematic level off.

2. UPDATE OF THE EMERGENCY DESCENT PROCEDURE
2.1. EFFECT ON MANUALS
• FCOM: PRO-ABN-80 • QRH: ABN-80 • FCTM: AO-090
2.2. SUMMARY OF THE MODIFICATION
• In FCOM/QRH:

The EMERGENCY DESCENT procedure in FCOM/QRH is revised to include the following:

Memory actions identification:
The memory items are written in such a way that the flight crew should easily identify the actions that
they should perform by memory.
Therefore, all action lines identified as memory items in the EMERGENCY DESCENT procedure are
surrounded by a thin solid line box.
The Passenger Address announcement of the emergency descent to the cabin is moved after the ATC
notification, in order not to delay the initiation of the emergency descent.

Other improvements:
• Crew oxygen masks action changed from 'ON' into 'USE'
• Removal of the altitude limitation regarding landing gear extension (25000 ft): For extension/retraction,
the main limitations and the speeds (VLO extension: 250 kt /M 0.60, VLO retraction: 220 kt /M 0.54, and
VLE: 280 kt /M 0.67) should be taken into account.
• Introduction of the concept of the Minimum O ff Route Altitude (MORA) in the altitude limitation 'FL
100/MEA-MORA'
"MAX FL 100 /MEA" is replaced by "MAX FL 100 /MEA-MOKA"
• In FCTM:
Revision of the section that deals with the EMERGENCY DESCENT procedure in order to take into account
the procedure changes mentioned above and also to standardize the content with other Airbus aircraft.
