HEBREWS 13:7, 17
You must understand the role of the pastor and the local
church in your life, if you must fulfill God’s purpose for your
life. 1 Peter 5 shows how a pastor should exercise
leadership in the lives of people that God joins to him. When
God saves you from the world, he puts you under a pastor in
a church because it is impossible to fulfill your purpose on
the earth if you don’t have a local church. You can be gifted,
have grace and have a call but all the three are for your
assignment and your assignment is connected to the church
that God joins you to. The reason for your gifting and grace
is for the fulfillment of your assignment in the local church
that God has joined you to. Your assignment affects the
church you should be part of. The assignment of the finger
is part of the assignment of the hand, which is why the
finger is not part of the head or thigh.
In the local church, the pastor is the head.
The Bible talks about three houses:
1 The father’s house (the church, which is the body of
Christ.)
2 The local church
3 The little church (a man’s nuclear family)
In 1 Timothy 3 one of the qualifications for a man to be a
pastor is to be able to pastor his own house; which means
the house of a man is pictured like a little church. The man
heading this family must be submitted to the head of the
right local church and the head of the local church must be
submitted to the Head of the church – Jesus Christ. This
shows us that you being born again cannot go to a church
where the pastor is not born again even if he likes the work
of God or has gone through theological training. If he is not
born again, he is not going to connect you to Jesus the
Head of the church. You will be like a plastic joint whereby
things flowing from Jesus will not reach you. Such a person
will be like a living child in the hands of a dead mother.
That child does not have the chance of survival. He will
eventually die.
1 Peter 5 furthermore shows us that a pastor is an elder
automatically by calling and not by age. The motive of a
pastor must not be money or material acquisition. He must
be able to lay down or sacrifice his life for the flock so that
they can become what God wants them to become. A pastor
should not be in ministry because of salary, or what the
flock will do for him. You must decide that whether you are
paid or not you will do the work.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I receive a divine awareness of the pastor and the local
church that God has ordained to help fulfill my destiny on
the earth. I receive grace to cooperate with them in Jesus’
name.
2. I destroy the power of every satanic arrest in my life, in
the name of Jesus.
3. All satanic arresting agents; release me, in the name of
Jesus.
4. I command every spiritual contamination in my life to
receive cleansing by the blood of Jesus.
5. Let the brush of the Lord scrub out every dirt in my
spiritual pipe, in the name of Jesus.
6. I destroy everything that is representing me in the
demonic world with the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every rusted spiritual pipe in my life, receive wholeness
in the name of Jesus name
8. Every evil spiritual padlock and chain hindering my
spiritual growth; be roasted, in the name of Jesus.
9. I rebuke every spirit of spiritual deafness and blindness
in my life, in the name of Jesus.
10. I anoint my eyes and ears with the blood of Jesus.
