Tom Sawyer lives in St. Petersburg, Missouri with his Aunt Polly.
Tom is a mischievous twelve-year-old with a vivid imagination.
He routinely skips school and chores in favour of playing games with his friends

During one of Tom’s midnight adventures with his friends Huck, the two witness Injun Joe murder
Dr. Robinson.
When they discover that Muff Potter has been arrested for the murder, they are too afraid to reveal
the truth.

When townspeople believed that Tom, Huck and Joe to be dead but they are just hiding out on
Jackson’s island.
Tom gives his testimony, it proves Muff Potter’s innocence.
The two boys also witness Injun Joe and the Spaniard talking about the treasure that was hidden in a
mysterious place.

When Huck overhears Injun Joe’s plan to disfigure the Widow Douglas.
Huck uses this information to alert the Welshman in time to save her.
Another is when Tom sees Injun Joe in the cave.

When Huck saves the Widow Douglas and when Tom and Becky escape from the cave.
When Tom realizes that Injun Joe was trapped in the cave and causing his death by starvation.

The major conflict is resolved when Tom and Huck get the treasure (which was worth $12,000)
Huck’s situation is resolved when he is, unhappily at first, adopted by the Widow Douglas.
Between their adventures, heroism and newfound wealth, the two become a pair in St. Petersburg
