Abstract:

The hydraulic works are an essential part for the development of the towns.
Harnessing the power of water and turning it into electrical power is one of
the oldest, safest and most economical forms used today. It is therefore that
the present project has set itself the objective of identifying the feasibility
for the implementation of a Microcentral Hydroelectric in a sector
denominated "The Volcano" located in the Pintag parish, province of
Pichincha, in order to obtain its own energy to be used in the development
of the sector. For this, a study of hydrology was carried out, such as micro-
basins, fields, slopes, as well as a survey of topography, geology and other
factors in the sector.

Abstract:

The work carried out in the laboratory consists of characterization of the

materials to be used as aggregate, asphalt cement, elastomer and PET,
afterwards the elaboration and test of stability and briquette flow by the
Marshall Method, initially to determine the optimum percentage of asphalt
of the standard mixture and then the application of modifying materials in
varying percentages, which determines the optimum elastomer percentage
and the optimum percentage of the combination 50% elastomer and 50%
PET, finally the behavior of the designed mixtures when subjected to
sudden temperature changes in a thermal shock test.

Abstract: Stabilization of slopes allows a much longer shelf life along a
track, avoiding landslides that can cause damage to the pavement structure.
Stabilization methods vary depending on the type of gliding, conventional
methods such as gabion walls and unconventional as the ground and the
anchored walls provide a definitive solution to the different problems that
occur on the roads of our country ...

Abstract:
Some of the earthquakes that were recorded worldwide and which left great
human and economic losses are those recorded in: Loma Prieta-USA
(1989), Kobe-Japan (1995), Northridge-USA (1994), Kobe-Japan (1995),
Chichi-Taiwan (1999), Duzce-Turkey (1999), among others were
earthquakes of short duration but with enormous destructive power.

Abstract: The design of the first and second generation FPS (Frictional
Pendulum System) isolates is presented; according to the research carried
out at the Center for Scientific Research of the University of the Armed
Forces ESPE and the University of Buffalo to 2011. Subsequently, the
seismic analysis of a three-story structure with these two passive control
devices at its base. The FPS isolators work mainly to absorb the
displacements that are generated by external forces such as earthquakes or
other dynamic movements that act on the structure in which these
insulation systems are implemented, these can be placed in the base or
intermediate floors of the structure.
