This country has fought to defend, make and keep peace and it’s helped other countries accomplish equality and justice. However, these efforts should and will be greatly increased, in order to achieve for this state, as for all the others, an integral democracy, that promotes freedom, access to power, guarantees and respects the rule of law, free speech, and many other challenges that this committee has. The Republic of Germany is concerned, and fully committed to putting all the resources and effort necessary to achieve the sixteenth Sustainable Development Goal and ensure peace and cooperation for all nations. Germany has many methods of citizen participation, one of them, and the most popular, is the affiliation to political parties; Many young people take this opportunity to join and be heard. These parties represent the will of the people. Another way to ensure and safeguard our democracy is trough suffrage. A new parliament is elected every four years. All German citizens over 18 have the right to vote, this is universal, direct, free, equal and secret. “Human dignity is intangible. Respecting and protecting it is the obligation of every public power”. This is the mandate of the first article of Germany’s Constitution, whereby Germany recognizes inviolable and inalienable human rights as the foundation of every human community, of peace and of justice in the world. Germany defends this obligation in national as well as in international concerns. Together with its EU partners and in cooperation with the United Nations, Germany promotes the protection and development of human rights standards throughout the world. The delegation of Germany takes a position in this committee proposing an international agreement that allows neighbor countries to take action in order defend democracy during national conflicts, and a strengthening of organizations that serve purposes related to citizen participation and modern democracy, with the relevant and necessary conditions to ensure respect for nations sovereignty.
