Tenses

The Tense of a verb shows the time of an action or event. It expresses

time, relative to the moment of speaking.,
There are three types of tenses
 Present Tense. (I dance)
 Past Tense. (I danced)
 Future Tense. (I will dance)
Each of these tenses can explain an event that occurs in the present
that occurred in the past and an event that will occur in the future.
*Present Tense
This tense expresses even that happen in the present. The present
tense is used for facts, habitual actions, general truths and states of
being.

*Past Tense
The simple past tense is used to express an action that has taken place
in the past. The verb refers to the past time.

*Future Tense
This tense is used for those sentences which refer to the actions which
will occur later in future. This requires a future tense auxiliary verb.
Each of these sentences have four forms
 Simple
 Continuous
 Perfect
 Perfect Continuous
Group/Time Present Past Future

Present Continuous Tense

 This Tense is used to describe a continued or ongoing
action at the present time.
 At the time of speaking.. it expresses an action which Is in
progress at the time of speaking and has not yet been
completed.
Eg:-My mother is preparing dinner
They are sleeping right now.
Present Perfect Tense
 This is used to express an action begun in the past and
completed at the present Time. Here the time is not
important
Eg:- he has just gone out.
They have been to japan.
Present Perfect Continuous Tense
 This is generally used to describe an action which began
in the past and is still continuing...
Eg:- Thara has been living in Singapore for several years.
They have been trying to contact her.
