End-of-Course Reflection Paper/Questionnaire

How relevant and applicable were the course Guro21 enhanced my competencies as a 21st Century
contents in helping you enhance your teachers in many ways. It is relevant to my profession
competencies as 21st Century teacher? and applicable to all my functions as a Senior High
School Teacher. Through Guro21, I discovered that
there are certain literacies that I have not been
applying in my teaching career. Literacies such as
ecoliteracy, financial literacy and social/emotional
literacy have not been given importance by me. All the
literacies are equally important in order to be able to
produce a 21st century teacher.
Because of the course, I was also able to validate some
of my teaching strategies like localization and the use
of authentic assessment in rating a learner.
Guro21 also inspired to become a more effective
teacher. It made me want to become a 21st century
teacher in order to address the educational problems
being faced by 21st century learners. I now believe that
teachers should be the ones to adapt to this change of
learning style and that I should not force the learners
to learn my way thus, I need to modernize some of my
teaching strategies in order to cater to my 21st century
learners.
All-in-all, Guro21 taught me that as a teacher, I am
partly responsible in producing not only a 21st learner
but a person who would later on shape the future of
the world.
What significant learning insights did you gain from The most significant insight I have gained from the
the course? course is that as a 21st century teacher, I should be a
subject expert, a facilitator of learning, and a classroom
manager. For me, I considered this very essential
because it reminded me of the very reason why I am a
teacher.
As a subject matter expert, it is my duty to continuously
learn and constantly review my subject matter because
I owe it to my learners to transfer the learning I that I
have and that I cannot give what I do not have.
As a facilitator of learning, everything should not come
from me, dictated and spoon-fed to the students. I am
there to facilitate, therefore, everyone, including my
students, should have a say in the subject.
Lastly, as a classroom manager, I should be able to
address cultural diversity in the classroom. I should be
able to design my personalized classroom
management plan and apply it as a manager.
What challenges or difficulties did you experience The challenges/difficulties I have experienced during
during the course? the course is lack of time for reviewing.
As much as I wanted to really learn and focus on the
course/lesson, I found it very hard to concentrate
because of the workload I was assigned to.
However, being determined to finish the course, I tried
my best to attend every chat session. One time, I had
to attend to the chat session while acting as
tournament manager in the municipal meet. I also had
to squeeze in some of the requirements while
preparing my grade sheets, my inset presentation and
while facilitating the review of my student who
qualified in the Regional Schools Press Conference.
It was indeed a challenge and I believe that because of
my determination and persistence, I will be able to
finish this course.
What areas related to 21st Century teaching and I believe that I still have to improve on addressing
learning do you still need to improve on and why? cultural diversity in the classroom. With the advent of
inclusive education, all teachers should be experts on
how to pattern lessons and subjects to the learning
styles of students.
I believe that I should also motivate my students into
becoming lifelong learners and so I should be able to
be more skilled in persuading them to want to become
lifelong learners.
What can you say about your overall experience Overall, I believe my experience to be overwhelming

people and a very understanding FLT who was also an
epitome of a facilitator.
The course requirements are tough, because it
challenged me to think beyond the box. I had to really
think of good answers in order to pass this course.
All-in-all, I think my experience has taught me a lot
about being a 21st century teacher, about 21st century
learners and that to be an effective teacher, we should
consider their characteristics and update ourselves to
21st century teaching skills and lessons.

What are your other comments / suggestions for I believe that in order to improve future course
improving the content coverage and future course deliveries and enhance the retention of learning on
deliveries? the part of the tutee, more chat sessions should be
included.
Aside from this, an example of how to finish the
course requirements should be included in the
dashboard in order to make answering the written
requirement easier for the tutees.
