OBJECTIVES
Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to listen
and draw at least 3 suitable pictures based on the story.
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be
able to plan, draft and write at least 4 correct sentences
based on the pictures.
IMPACT/REFLECTION
Pre-lesson: Pupils are asked what will they find at the sea.
Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils are explained about the ‘Listen & Draw’ activity.
Each pupil is given a storyboard template. Teacher reads
out a story sentence by sentence and pupils draw the
picture. There are 6 sentences for 6 pictures.
2. Pupils listen and draw. They are given some time in
between sentences.
3. In each box, there is a space for pupils to write. Pupils try
to recall what teacher has said and write a sentence
describing their drawing in each box.
3. Pupils can colour their pictures if time permits. Pupils then
exchange their story board with their partner. Partner
checks and gives feedback in a sentence/sticky note.
Post-lesson: Pupils’ works are displayed in a gallery walk.

describe at least 5 pictures correctly using the practised
sentence structures.
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be
able to listen and answer at least 5 questions correctly.
IMPACT/REFLECTION
Pre-lesson: Teacher asks a few questions using Did….. and
pupils try to answer correctly.
Lesson delivery:
1. A few pictures are pasted on the board. Pupils are
called at random to say out the activity in the pictures.
2. Teacher demonstrates the activity using a picture on the
board. T: Did he take pictures yesterday? S: Yes, he did.
T: Did he go snowboarding yesterday? S: No, he didn’t. He
went to the beach yesterday.
3. Pupils are called out to the front and given a question.
They must answer the question based on the picture.
4. Each pupil is given a cootie catcher. Pupils make the
cootie catcher and play in pairs.
Post-lesson: Pupils share their answers.

2. Pupils refer to page 64 in Year 3 Supplementary
Worksheets Module and read the email.
3. A few questions are pasted around the class. Pupils A
reads the question first and tell Pupils B. They find out and
write the answer. They take turns to complete the task.
4. Pupils refer to textbook page 91 to read the text. Pupils
find out and write the similarities and differences between
both stories in page 64 of the module.
Post-lesson: Pupils’ answers are checked.

as demonstrated by the teacher in their groups.
4. Pupils share their points with their group members.
5. Teacher writes 2 sample sentences as the first point.
Pupils continues the email on their own (M). Teacher
guides pupils to complete the email (L).
Post-lesson: Pupils share their email write-up with the class.

Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils read ‘The Cub’ story in textbook page 92-93. Ask
pupils to circle any words that they don’t understand.
2. After reading, in pairs pupils figure out the meaning of
words that they have circled. Teacher gives out clues as
well.
3. Teacher asks pupils what they have learnt from the story.
4. A few comprehension questions from Teacher’s Book
are written on the board. Pupils copy and answer the
questions based on the story.
