NUMPUZZ: A TWO DIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL AND PUZZLE

ANDROID BASED MOBILE GAME

Rationale

Nowadays, our generation spend so much of their time playing mobile games.

It’s badly affects their study and loses focus, also some students are getting influence by

their classmates, friends and relatives. This generation spends so much time in playing

mobile games like Candy Crush, Mobile Legends, Temple Run and etc that can be

downloaded at the Google Play store and Apple App Store. And some of these games can

totally addictive and may ruin their studying.

NumPuzz - A two dimensional mathematical and puzzle android based mobile game,

is game that feature basic mathematical computations and a puzzle concept driven by the

story of mathematicians giving the user a brief history of their discoveries. The users may

encounter numbers to solve in different operations such as Addition, Subtraction,

Multiplication and Division. As they finish every stage there would be a piece of picture

of the famous mathematician such as Rene Descartes, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and

many more, The given piece of picture in every stage of each level will be give a extra

coins as they guess it correctly and arranged properly. If they complete that stage of every

level, the picture will be completed and the game will give a brief history about their

discoveries to help them familiarize that Mathematicians. Every stage will give coins as

they finish and collected it, in order to purchase a hint if they are already having a hard

time on playing.

A lot of children lose focus as well as interest in studying. The main goal of this

study is to develop an android-based game that will give the user to help them stretch

their critical thinking skills in mathematical problems like problem solving and

computation. This game will give the user thrill and challenge as they try to compute the
given number in a certain period of time. Also to stop those always using calculators and

not getting swindle by other people.

Statement of the Problem

A lot of children today lose focus as well as interest as well as interest in studying

because they choose to play games instead of studying, they invest so much time for

playing games even though they know that some of the games that they will play is lack

of educational value that can help them to practice their critical thinking skills, problem

solving, analytical thinking skills and etc. Every people nowadays just want to play

games to satisfy their needs to be entertained, their attention is not in the educational

value of the game but they focus on how the game entertained themselves.

Significance of the Study

The study aims to develop a dimensional mathematical and puzzle android based

mobile game, a mobile game that will not only entertain the users but will also learn. It

will also aid and develop their skills in critical thinking, problem solving, analytical

thinking and etc

This mobile game will help improve individual’s basic mathematical skills, problem

solving, analytical thinking and etc.


Objective of the study

The general objective of this study is to develop an android based mobile game

entitled “NumPuzz” it will enhance their basic mathematical skills.

Specifically, the study aims to:

Give the user a game that features an educational themed game that will enhance

their basic mathematical skills, problem solving, analytical thinking and etc.

Develop an educational game that can lessen the player’s boredom and at the same

time the user will also learn from the game.

Show the users that in order to succeed in the game, they must also consider working

hard on it.

Expected Output

NumPuzz a two dimensional mathematical and puzzle game will help students

stretch their critical thinking skills.


Sample:
Random yung mga numbers at operations. Random din yung gagamitin nilang operation

depende, basta makuha nila yung tamang sagot.Kunwari nasolve na yung 20, magpapalit

lahat ng laman dyan sa gitna. Kada maling sagot deducted ng 5 sec sa time.Pag na solve

nila walang dagdag para may challange pabilisan lng. Pag tumaas ang level dun lng

magbabago yung time limit. Pagntapos tong lvl na to magbibigay naman ng piraso ng

picture tapos huhulaan nila sa guess that mathematicians level. Dun sila makakakuha ng
coins pangbili ng hint.

Every stage 20 problems siguro.
