CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. Business Concept

The type of business that is chosen by the owners is the “Food Business” to showcase
their talent and effort in providing a food product that is not impossible to like by each
individual. There are eight members in the business and each of them has their own task
to do, to run the business easily and in a very proper way. The goal of this business is to
provide a good service, to have a good profit and to be known in the field of food
business.

To start the business, the owners find out what is the common cravings of each
individuals and it leads to the idea of making the “Maja Blanca and Leche Plan” that is
one of the well-known sweet delicacies in the Philippines. In business, the owners are
not only focus on the profit that can be gain but more focus on how to run a business.
They will serve affordable products that the customer can surely afford and has capable
to buy the products. And as the business operates it will use materials that has a high
quality but least expensive. The business name is a major factor that surely can attract or
persuade people that is why the owners decided to name it “Sweet Cup” since they are
planning to put the leche flan and maja blanca in a cup. Knowing the location is also
important before starting the business and the location must be accessible by the target
customers. After giving it a name, the business will raise revenues through marketing the
products for example giving flyers; in order the customers to be aware that there is an
existing product/business and the enterprise will also use social media because nowadays
social media is commonly used by the netizen. Knowing the cost of the expenses will be
the basis of the pricing. And of course, customers’ capacity will also be considered.
Knowing the capability of the customers to avail the products is also important for the
enterprise to drive the cost.

To be recognized as a leading distinctive brand of homemade sweet


delicacies that can satisfy the cravings of each customer and be the best in
terms of customer services.

To offer the customers the most reasonable and affordable price and
ensure the highest level of service, professionalism, courtesy and
thoughtfulness.

CHAPTER II

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Food is an integral part of humans’ life. Men cannot live without consuming
nutrients. People have always “benefited” from food and will continue consuming it till
their last breath. The contemporary business world revealed that demand always results
in the corresponding supply. The demand on food caused the growth of variety of the
food products and the growth of the number of companies professionally providing food
products for people. This is the reason why Sweet Cup chose the food business and plan
to locate it at the Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City that is near in the STI Batangas. Sweet
Cup expects to catch the interest of a regular loyal customer base with its finest quality
ingredients and product.

The business plans to build a strong business position due to the partners’
industry experience and mild competitive climate in the area. It aims to offer its products
at a competitive price to meet the demand of the middle-to higher- income local business
area residents and other clients.

Sweet Cup business is owned and managed by its group of friends. They
offer a delicious and high quality of product that suit the customer and provide the
highest quality of product with personal customer service. Their business is a hospitality
shop, dedicated to providing high quality dessert in a comfortable atmosphere. Sweet Cup
intends to make enough profit to generate a fair return for our investors and to finance
continued growth and development in quality of products.

The owner – Janna Gayle Reloya who serves as the owner is the one who is capable to
run the business and problematize what makes the business grow. The business owner
owns a business entity in an attempt to profit from the successful operations of the
company. Generally has decision making abilities and first right to profit.

Stockholders – Laila Frane and Ronielyn Tan hold stocks in other words, own shares.
When you buy stocks, it's like buying part of the company. The more shares you buy, the
more invested you are in a company. The value of the stock goes up when the company
does well and goes down when the company does poorly, so stockholders want the
company to succeed. If you want to become a stockholder, start following the stock
market.

Managers – Vanessa Rose Cuenca and Josephine Cadusale are the person who manages
or is in charge of something. Managers can control departments in companies, or guide
the people who work for them. Managers must often make decisions about things.

Staffs – April Ebora, Ruffa Mae Cleoffe and Rica Aguba are in charged in carrying out
the work of an establishment or executing some undertaking. a group of assistants to a
manager, superintendent, or executive.
CHAPTER IV

TARGET CUSTOMERS AND MAIN VALUE PROPOSITION

Target Customer

Nowadays peoples are fun of eating desserts. A meal is nothing unless there is a
dessert to complete their eating experiences. The advocates prefer to process leche flan
and maja blanca as their product in their business. The entrepreneur thinks critically
whether their customers will be. The first group of peoples are the "Students". Today’s
generation youths are fond of having get together and hangout. They choose to eat
together. Since some of them are desserts lover, the entrepreneurs cope up that this leche
flan and maja blanca business will be very click for them. Next are the kids and children.
We all know that kids and children in their age, was fun of eating sweet treats because of
their sweet tooth temptations. Probably this business will attract many children and kids
because of the products are sweets. This business is also for those who want to feel the
real essence of Filipino desserts like "titos and titas of manila". Since in their generation,
leche flan and maja blanca are common dessert that is present in the table. The advocates
come up with this group of people because for sure this business will be for them.

Main Value Proposition

Sweet Cup represents excellent value for money, consistent quality and fast
service. For Sweet Cup, offering value of money product such as leche flan and maja
blanca without costing the customer a premium in terms of time. The brand logo supports
a value for money, good quality perception and significant brand loyalty and positive
associations are also abundant. The core values at Sweet Cup focus on their customer’s
needs and wants. They provide high quality of food and superior service in a clean,
welcoming environment at a great value. This brand value description distills the very
essence of their promise. With this statement, they are telling the customer that you can
get a good value high quality and delicious leche flan and maja blanca in a clean and
welcoming environment.

Competitors

The competitors of the enterprise are all the chain that also offers a Leche Flan and
Maja Blanca here at Batangas City area. Mang Inasal is known for having “unlimited
rice” but they also offers a delicious Leche Flan. Goldilocks also have a Leche Flan in
their menu aside from their famous cakes that is why it is also one of the competitors of
Sweet Cup. Vivians Café sells different kind of sweets and one of this is the Maja Blanca
and it is delicious, indeed. These are some of the well-known enterprises that can
possibly affect the sales of the Sweet Cup. In addition, there are also many seller that do
not have a place and just posting their home made products in the social media that is
same with the product of Sweet Cup and also offering a wholesale.
Suppliers

The Sweet Cup purpose is to satisfy the needs and wants of the customers
regarding the product that they offer. So by that, the enterprise makes sure that all the
ingredients of their product are all in high quality. Presented in the following is the
trusted business suppliers of the Sweet Cup.

 Le Frank Ingredients Philippines Inc. This supplier deliver superior quality


products and the highest degree of service possible by providing the freshest,
finest and good quality food ingredients at value prices.
 Tindahan ng Itlog ni Kuya. This supplier sells a good quality and fresh eggs.
 Universal Commercial Corp. A Manufacturers representative, Exclusive
Distributor as well as Certified dealer of well-known brand product lines (Local
or Imported) specializing in Kitchen Equipment and other industry related
products.
 R.N. Enterprises. This suppliers delivers high quality cups that is used for
packaging the products.
All of these suppliers are highly recommended for having a good service as well as
very high quality product. These suppliers also possess, honesty, trustworthy, credibility
and integrity.

These are the channels of distribution that is used in the business. Sweet Cup
produces the leche flan and maja blanca and they are not only sell their products to
consumer in cups but they are open for bulk orders or whole sale, too. Wholesaling refers
to the sale of goods to retailers, manufacturers or other business users. Retailers can help
small businesses by performing a wide range of marketing services, from promoting
products directly to customers to giving customers a chance to view and test products.
Each participant in the distribution channel needs marketing and sales functions to move
goods along. Wholesale sales reps meet with new retail prospects and existing accounts
to sell goods. With new prospects, sales reps try to persuade retail buyers that certain
products are in high demand and offer good revenue opportunities.
Macro Environmental Factor

A. Social Environment

Sweet cup is made by sweet leche plan and maja blanca wherein placed by a cup.
This kind of desserts can be promoted to all ages. It is also good to all those who love this
said desserts. Also, it do not need to have a limitation of ages to try this because it is
applicable for us or to anyone. Especially, it is a great news to everybody that this dessert
is good in taste and it is also affordable. It is comparable to others who also promoted this
kind of dessert. However, even if it is applicable to all of ages, there will be some people
who are in diet, allergy to some ingredients like eggs that will not dare to purchase it.

B. Political Environment

The law is important for a society for it serves as a norm of conduct for citizens. It
was also made to provide for proper guidelines and order upon the behaviour for all
citizens.

Tax Reform Act of 1997 (Republic Act No. 8424)

This is a law that amended the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) is the law
that governs the national taxation in the Philippines and gives the Bureau of Internal
Revenue (BIR) the power and duty to assess and collect national internal revenue taxes in
the country.

The Local Government Code of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 7160)

This is the law governing local taxation in the Philippines, including the taxation
on real properties.

Labor Code of the Philippines (Presidential Decree No. 442)

This is the law that governs employment practices and labor relations in the
Philippines.

Social Security Act of 1997 (R.A. No. 8282)


This is the law that mandates employers to register their business and their
employees with the Social Security System (SSS).

National Health Insurance Act of 1995 (R.A. No. 7875)

It is the act that mandates employers to register their business and their employees
with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth.

Consumer Act of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 7394)

It is the law that protects the interest of the consumers in the Philippines, promote
their general welfare, and establish standards of conduct for business and industry.

The Magna Carta for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as amended
(RA 9501)

It is an Act to promote entrepreneurship in the Philippines by strengthening


development and assistance programs to Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in
the country.

C. Technological Environment

Nowadays, there is no business who does not use technology. Innovation is


continuously walking. Technology is about innovation and innovation in business is all
about doing things differently in order to provide better products and solutions, and an
improved service to customers. Technology is not just essential for day-to-day business
processes, but it can also help companies to achieve growth and success when utilized
effectively. Successful businesses do not view technology simply as a way to automate
processes, but instead use it to open up new ways of doing business tremendous growth
in trade and commerce. Business concepts and models were revolutionized as a result of
the introduction of technology. This is because technology gave a new and better
approach on how to go about with business. It provided a faster, more convenient, and
more efficient way of performing business transactions. Technology in business made it
possible to have a wider reach in the global market. The basic example is the Internet,
which is now a common marketing tool to attract more consumers in availing products
and services offered by various businesses.
CHAPTER VI

THE PRODUCT AND SERVICE OFFERINGS

Nowadays, it is not difficult to introduce products to market regardless of your


age which don’t require more input or capital. For as long as you know the basic
principle of business dealings, you know your product very well and you have knowledge
in just posting it online, you can really capture customer quickly. Maja Blanca is made
with fresh and creamy coconut milk, from tree to casserole, high quality corn starch &
sugar with canned whole kernel corn garnished with the best grated cheddar cheese in the
market while it remains affordable to everyone. On the other hand, leche flan is made by
quality fresh egg from farm to mold. Egg yolk is being separated from white thus it is
more refined. Additionally, both condensed and evaporated milk is made by high quality
brand maker. Leche flan is being refined by three times with fine white cloth to achieve
the desired smooth and mouthwatering end product.

The packaging is perfect for all occasion and can be sent as a gift. Both leche flan
and maja blanca are packed in a disposable and microwaveable container which enables
it to travel for 24 hours without sacrificing its quality. Both items can be ordered in bulk
and open for resellers. Orders can be considered bulk if it is more than 30 pcs and
requires longer delivery time. Individual orders however has minimum piece of five so
that labor cost can be reduced. For big events, it is advised to order it in advance so that it
can be prepared on the date it is needed because buying raw materials depends on the
requirement for a specific day only. If raw materials are kept and hoarded it can
sacrifice products quality.

A. Enterprise Strategy

Marketing strategies

Marketing strategy is created before starting a business. You can't effectively


market without understanding how your business fits into the marketplace, your
competition, how you'll compete, and what you need to achieve to reach your financial
goals. Then, you use what you've learned to create your marketing plan, and start your
business. The Sweet Cup will used marketing strategies which is the social media
marketing, flyers and banners. These will help Sweet Cup to obtain a good market
position and to attain sustainable competitive advantages in the long run.

 Social Marketing Strategy

Social media sites are becoming the go-to place for costumer who wants to learn
more about business. These sites allow businesses to offer the most up-to-date
information about anything from product and services. Most social media advertising is
cheaper than traditional advertising, so you don’t have to spend a lot of money to reach
more people and grow your business. Because mmillennial were a tribe connected on
social media, which made them very influential. Sweet Cup will take an advantage of
social media and will use this to promote their products. They will use advertisement that
can be seen through facebook page , instagram , twitter and other social media that can be
easily access by people.
 Flyers and Banners

Flyers will be distributed on the roadside, people's lane, bus and train stations and
where the target number people is targeted. It will be given to random people in which
place is located. This can also be shared with offices to better identify the product. Flexi
banners with the company's logo, contact number and store branch location are posted on
the public road. It can also be attached to power post
 Introductory Letters

An introductory letter is most commonly used in business communications, used


to establish contact, request information, or outline a new product or service. It can be
a way to make or get acquainted and touched by companies.

 Location

Sweet cup is located at National Road, Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City and it is
also near at the STI Batangas. This is said to be the best spot to sell the products because
there is a a lot of passengers, students, local residents and tourists that pass here.

Figure 5 shows, how sweet cup enterprise strategy will be effectively executed
through those five major processes called input, Throughput, output, marketing and
desired outcomes. The first column or the input column contains all the strategy and
resources needed in producing of the product. The throughput column contains all the
procedures needed in order to produce the product. The output column contains our
finished products. The marketing column contains out advertisement and distribution
channel of the products. Lastly, The Desired outcomes column, contains our business
aims.
