MACHINE GUARDING

PURPOSE

 Is to protect the machine operator and other workers in the working area
from hazards produce during the machine’s normal operation, hazards of
common like rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.

RESPONSIBLE PERSONS

 Safety officer
 Supervisor
 Machine operator (worker)

PROCEDURES

1. Inspection of the machine before operation.


2. All necessary PPE is used while the machine is running.
3. Employees must use the proper piece of machine before the job.
4. Employees may not remove the machine guard for any reason while
operating.

GAS TESTING
PURPOSES

 Is to ensure that the workers in the jobsite are free from any toxic hazards, it
is also mandatory prior to work being done in the area that carries a risk to
workers or equipment from exposure to explosive, flammable, toxic or life
threatening vapour.
 To ensure that the atmosphere within the confine space will support life.

 Authorized gas tester
 Area Authority

PROCEDURES

1. It should be gas test first by authorized person before working.


2. It should be inspected by responsible employee.
3. It should be test every now and then.
4. Wear proper PPE for the job.

PTW SYSTEM
PURPOSE

 Is to provide a disciplined approach in assessing the risk of a job and telling


the precautions to be taken while working hot work and or working in
confine space.

PROCEDURES

1. Apply for permit to work.


2. Check the permit applicant details
3. Check if the permit is duly signed by authorized/ trained person
4. Brief the permit holder on the work and hazard

HOT WORK DERMIT
PURPOSE

 This program will establish minimum safe working, procedures and


guidelines for the operation of cutting, soldering, welding and/or other
similar operation in work place.

 Supervisor
 Fire watch
 Permit issuer

PROCEDURES

1. Hot work should be done in designated hot work rooms whenever it is


practical.
2. Hot work permit is valid for one day and always posted in the area of hot
work.
3. Always use right PPE for the work.

WELDING SAFETY
PURPOSE

 Is to provide safety guidelines while performing welding task in the


designated work in jobsite.

PROCEDURES

1. Always follow the instructions while welding.


2. Always wear the correct eye protection with a suitable lens.
3. Always follow the supplier’s recommendation.
