CHAPTER 1

Department of Education Mission, Vision, and Core Values

Statement

Vision

We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and whose values
and competencies enable them to realize their full potential and contribute
meaningfully to building the nation.

As a learner- centered public institution, the Department of education

continuously improves itself to better serve its stakeholders.

Mission

To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable,

culture-based and complete basic education where:
Students learn in a child friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and
motivating environment.
Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner.
Administrators and staff, as stewards of the institution, ensure an
enabling and supportive environment for effective learning’s to happen.
Family, community and other stakeholders are active engaged and
share responsibility for developing life-long learners.

Core Values

Maka –Diyos
Maka-Tao
Makakalikasan
Makabansa

This chapter presents the documentation of matters that transpired during

the Vision Sharing activity. These include the list of the School Planning
Team’s (SPT’s) aspirations for the school and learners, their understanding
of DepEd VMV and Core Values as well as their commitments based on
these understanding.

There may be two styles in writing this chapter:

1. Write first the statements of the Vision, Mission, and Core Values then
write the sharing.
2. Write the Vision statement, then sharing; mission statement then sharing;
and core values statement then sharing.

It may not be necessary to capture all the statements of the SPT members.
In doing so, it may be written as “… ang phrase nga gusto nimo i-
capture…” The sharing shall be italicized.

CHAPTER 2
Assess

School’s Current Situation

Building on the results of data assessment, seamlessly connect the initial

list of improvement areas to create a picture of the school’s current
situation.

Use the result of the Gap Analysis template in the “Explanation” part. Those
data that answered “No” in the “Currently Contributing – Yes/No” are your
priority improvement areas. While those data that answered “Yes” are your
achievements. The “Yes/No” part means it is currently contributing to the
Division targets.

There is a need to accomplish first the Gap Analysis Template and Rubrics
for Prioritization before accomplishing this part. Use the data in the SCDT
as your reference in doing this. You may use other sources of data if there
are important things that are not captured in the SCDT.

Remember, only those that are enumerated in the school’s current situation
will be brought to the planning worksheet.

Technicalities that you should consider:

 In writing your statement, numbers below 10 should be spelled out
(Out of 128 pupils, seven or 5.47% are frustration readers)
 Refrain using these words: less, more, inadequate, insufficient,
poor, rich, lack, low, high, unavailable, absence of, frequent. You
would rather quantify these conditions.
