The Effects of Increasing Oil Price

Yohanes Marino

Fuel is a factor that can impact all aspects in our life. We need fuel to cook a meal, we need fuel
to produce everything, and even we need fuel to go to campus. However, fuel is also a limited
resource. This resource (fuel) cannot be reproduced in short time. Oil (the basic form of fuel)
needs a million years to be produced. That is why oil becomes a rare thing and has a high value.
Its price is higher and increasing by the time. Nevertheless, this price increasing affects some of
aspects in Indonesia, such as political condition, the subsidy of the government and the rising of
other prices. Comment [u1]: Thesis Statement
First, the increasing of fuel price can make the political condition in Indonesian become
unstable. We know that in Indonesia the fuel’s price is a government decision. When the Comment [u2]: Arguments

government decides to increase the fuel’s price, there will be many demonstrations. These
demonstrations can be a starting point for the big riot and it can make the political condition
become unstable. The opposition of the government to take sympathy from the people can also
use big riot. Therefore, the increasing of fuel’s price can make the political condition in
Indonesia become unstable.
The next effect is the budget of Indonesian government can be decreased. We know Comment [u3]: Arguments

that the fuel’s price in Indonesia is helped by the government subsidy. Indonesian government
gives subsidy for premium so that the people can reach the price of premium. The subsidy of
premium is included to the government expense. By increasing the price, the government can
reduce the subsidy and this subsidy can be used for another aspect.
The last effect of the fuel’s price increasing is the rising of other prices things. The prices Comment [u4]: Arguments

of other things are impacted by the fuel’s price. Everything that sold needs transportation to be
distributed; and transportation needs fuel so that they can work well. Therefore, the increasing
of fuel’s price can affect the other prices too.
As the conclusion, we know that the increasing of fuel’s price can affect other aspects or
all aspects in Indonesian people. Therefore, Indonesian government has to be sure to raising the Comment [u5]: Conclusion

fuel’s price. They have to have a good consideration to take a good decision.
