Educ 412 – Strategies of Teaching

Name of Teacher: Blance,Nefritiri G. Grade/Year Level: 8

Learning Area: Orthographic Drawing – Three-View Drawing Quarter: 2nd Module No.: __
Competency: Drawing Skills, Writing Skills, Analyzation Skills

Learning Objectives:
Knowledge: Identify the structures and methods in constructing the Three Principal Views.
Skills: Apply the steps and rules as a guide in creating a Conventional Arrangement of the
Three Principal Views.
Attitudes: Value the interest in performing the essential rules in constructing an object as well
as its view.

Resources Needed:
 3 different Object Mock-Up
 T-square
 Triangle
 Chalkboard/Chalk
 Visual Aids

I. Preparation
A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Classroom Management
4. Checking of Attendance
B. Motivation
I will be showing at least 3 different kinds of object and they will identify if what is being
presented through “shadow effect”.
(I will be using a toy car, a 3D box, a can and a flashlight for the shadow effect)

II. Presentation
Before anything else, I will present my objectives so that my students and I will be aware of
what should we have to attain and accomplish, at the end of the period.
I will post my topic on the board, written on a piece of cartolina to emphasize the specific lesson.
Then going back, I will start from relating my motivation to the present lesson. By asking at
least 3 guiding questions, so that they can have the prior knowledge about the Orthographic
Drawing.
1. What have you observed from the activity that we have done?
2. How does the shadow effect relate to the projectors? The Objects? The Flashlight?
3. In a practical way, why is there a need for us to identify the different views of an object or
a thing?
Demonstration will take place. (Discussion Proper)

A. Activity
 Pre-Activity
After discussion, the students will be having a 1 minute challenge for constructing a
specific view that I will be showing them from the 3D object that is presented. (only one view)

 Activity Proper
I will be grouping them for at least 5 groups and then give them materials that they will
be needing for the “building blocks activity”. (masking tape, 5 Envelopes with Activities inside)
Rubrics is posted at blackboard. (This activity will be performed for at least 5 mins.)
Inside the envelope, there are cut-part pieces of an object with specific colors for each
views, and the pattern also is there. So that they can construct and form effectively, efficiently
and cooperatively a given 3D Block/Object.

B. Analysis
For their deeper understanding, here are also some guiding questions for analysis.
1. What is the importance of identifying the different views of orthographic drawing?
2. Why is there a need for us to identify the different views of an object or a thing?
3. How can you relate our topic in your daily life situation? Give example.
4. How are you going to value the essence of applying Orthographic Drawing in a real-
life situation?
This will enlighten the students mind for the concept not only within the four-walled
building but also they can appreciate and apply it essence in the real-life situation.

III. Generalization/Abstraction
1. What have you learned from our discussion?
2. What is the essence of the Principles that we have used in Orthographic Drawing?
“In Orthographic Drawing, we are just arranging the Three-Principal Views Conventionally.
From top view, to front view and lastly is the side view. ”

IV. Application
 Post-Activity
Activity Plate. (Individual) The Object to be used will be presented given with its
measurement. And this will be done for 10-20 minutes.

The Rubric:
Accuracy – 35%
Speed – 25%
Legibility – 25%
Neatness – 15%
Total – 100%
V. Evaluation/Assessment
This time I will be grouping them into 5 again. The activity will be called as
“The Dancing Letter”.

The Mechanics:
1. I have here a 3 item questions that you will answer.
2. Each group must have a representative for every question. All in all you must have 3
representative for the three-item question.
3. You have 5 sec. To answer.
4. Your answer will be placed or attached to your representative’s forehead. After attaching your
answer, the representative is required to dance until the answer has been told.
5. However, if your answer is correct but your representative don’t dance, automatically, your
group is disqualified for the current number. *The disqualified group can join again for the
next question.

Question/s:
1. A ____ line is drawn 45 degree that serves as the basis of the top view and right side view
in the arrangement of the three principal views. a
a. Miter line
b. Straight line
c. Reference line
2. It is a straight line in a cross formation being used in the arrangement of the three principal
views. b
a. Straight line
b. Reference line
c. Miter line
3. How the conventional arrangement of the three principal views does are arranged? c
a. Side view, top vie, front view
b. Top view, side view, front view
c. Top view, front view, side view

VI. Assignment
1. Take home plate: Draw and construct your own simple object and arrange the three
principal views conventionally.
2. Study and familiarize yourself about the isometric drawing.
3. Make a simple object that is in isometric drawing.

Follow up activity:
Please clean the room before you leave.

*Thank you and God bless*
