La Frase Nominal
(The Noun Phrase)
Motivación/Introducción
Lee las siguientes frases e indica la cantidad de sustantivos que observas en cada una de
ellas. Luego indica de quién o qué se habla en cada frase.
1. The computer.
La frase nominal es la que está formada por un grupo de palabras cuyo núcleo es el
nombre o sustantivo principal, se llama nominal porque su núcleo es un nombre propio
o común.
Ejemplos:
Science
Núcleo
La ciencia.
A reversible computational network.
Núcleo
Una red computacional reversible.
La frase nominal algunas veces está comprendida por los siguientes elementos.
Determinador-Premodificador-NÚCLEO-Postmodificador.
Ejemplo:
EXERCISES
¿Cuantas palabras observas en las siguientes frases? ¿Conoces las palabras tales
como "the, a, of, to, adapter, invention, damaged, to"? ¿Qué pasa si en una frase
hay más de un sustantivo?
2. Network adapter.
4. Damaged disk.
5. A laptop.
Observa las frases nominales anteriores, identifica sus elementos, subrayando cada uno
de ellos, luego tradúcelas al español.
Enumera las oraciones en el texto, subraya las frases nominales existentes en cada
oración, extráelas y luego tradúcelas al español.
The Computer
Computers are electronic machines that process information. They are capable of
communicating with the user of doing five kinds of arithmetic operations, and making
three kinds of decisions. However, they are incapable of thinking. They accept data and
instructions as input, and after processing the information, the supply the results as
output.

luego tradúcelas.

Calculating with Computers
In minutes, sometimes even in seconds, electronic computers solve problems which
would take mathematicians weeks or months to do. Computers today can guide rockets
to land on any spot on the earth or to into orbit around the earth, noon or sun.
Computers also help to design and test new airplanes and later guide them through the
sky.
