Chapter One Preface


Thank you for choosing Redsail Series Products!
This manual provide the user with the installation, commissioning, use, fault diagnosis and
maintenance and other related matters needing attention and guidance.In order to make you safe
and proper use of this product, please read this manual carefully before operation, fully
understanding, and please take good care for later often refer to use.

Notes:
 Before implementation of wiring, please be sure to shut off the power.
 Equipment internal electronic components are particularly sensitive to electronic, so do not puts
foreign body inside or touch the main circuit board inside the equipment.
1. After cutting off the alternating current (ac), if equipment indicator lights of internal driver,
motherboard and laser power is not extinguished,it shows that there is still a high pressure inside
the equipment,which is very dangerous, do not touch the internal circuit and components.
2. Be sure to put the equipment enclosure grounding correctly.

Chapter Three Equipment Accessories Installations and
Instructions
3.1 Laser Tube installation

(See in picture 1)

While installing laser tube , please refer to picture 1.According to picture 1 illustration, use electric

soldering iron to weld anode line(pink cord) and cathode rays(black/blue cord) in the Specified location(note:

Pay attention to not use electric iron welding on spot of the laser tube too long, in case the excess temperature

burnt laser tube),shall not be virtual welding. After completion of welding, operators should wrap it with high

pressure belt.。

After completion of welding, insert in/out tube respectively to the provisions of the laser tube outlet and

inlet position(While linking water tube,operators should follow principle that water inflow from the anode

and outflow from the cathode).

3.2 Water tube, air tube and air pump connections

3.2.1 Water tube and water pump, air tube and air pump connections:
(1) Please full the tank with water before connecting(water level should be more than three-quarters
of the water tank, submerged pump).

(2) Please find the water pipes and air pipes in the packing box, follow the prompts of Figure 2,
connected to the rear port of the machine.
3.2.2 Annexes to the role::
(1) air pump role:

 Prevent generated dust into the gas nozzle when the machine is processing materials, pollution

Focus Lens .
 Blow away dust produced during processing, make the processing depth shading flatter.

 Prevent in the process of machine working, blew flammable objects produced.

(2) water pump role:

 Before the machine is working, it must ensure laser tube filled with recycled water, otherwise it

will burn laser tube, causing irreparable damage. When pass water, be sure to keep the water
clean , Dirty water will affect effect of laser tube light, reduce the laser tube life
(recommended to use purified water). Also note that the water temperature, water
temperature laser cutting machine at work should not exceed 35 ℃, the temperature is too
high will cause the laser tube is not working properly, serious or even burn out the laser
tube.In the north, using a laser cutting machine in the winter , the water temperature inside the
tank can not than 0 ℃. After the work is completed, the water must be drained laser tube to
prevent the cracking of the laser tube, water tank holding at least 3/4.

3.3 Ventilator and Ventilation duct connections.

Ventilator, ventilation pipe connected with the machine:
1·The air duct (6) is connected to the outlet of ventilation (5), and firmly fixed. And then the
other end of the vent pipe is placed outdoors.
2·The ventilation device is placed in the ventilation slots (3), so that the ventilation inlet and
connected the air outlet of devices, and for a reasonable fixed to improve the exhaust smoke effect
of device, and then plug the power input ventilation output plug into a power strip (4).。
3.4 Lamp installation

(Figure 4)
Installation: As shown in Figure 4
The lamp (1) is mounted to its holder in the device (2), and make the lamp power plug into the
lamp slot.

3.5 Power main control switch zone description of device

3.6 Sub-control switch zone description of the device

(Figure 6)
1.The total power control emergency stop switch, responsible for equipment (except lamp outside),
when the device abnormal situation, can quickly press the button, quickly cut off the power to the load
2. Cap protection knob, with shrapnel switch (5) and the cover door (6) work, when the key turn to the
right, the cover door off (contact dome switches) or turn on ,the machine will always on work. When
the key switch is turned on, when the lid closes, click on the panel "Continue" button, the machine
starts to work, when you open the lid, the device is paused.
3. The red indicator (optional), when the switch is turned on the red indicator light (mounted on the
laser head), play a fixed origin, indicating the position of the light effect.

3.7 Connect a USB data cable

Find out the USB data cable in packing box, connected the USB data lines to the device control card
USB port and computer USB port.(As Figure 7)

Notes: 1. The USB interface device 2, USB data cable 3, the computer USB port
The device system can support offline working. Methods: the software by downloading
graphics parameters transferred to U disk, then U disk into the USB mouth ( Figure 6),
prompted by the control panel, you can transfer data directly to the control card device, the
download is complete, for offline functionality.

Four equipment use operating instructions


4.1·how to Install and use software
Before you install the software, insert the device power is turned on (before the device
is turned on, check the device power supply is normal, circulating water pump laser tube
is normal, connect the USB cable), copy the contents of the disc device to the computer to
make the backup. Referring to the "System Operation Manual" installation procedure,
the control software installed on the computer.
Before operating the machine, please read "System Operation Manual" to learn
more about the role of system software and control panel inside of the functional check
and operation control part of the equipment is operating normally.
4.2 how to Adjust optical path of the device
After the each attachment device connected, set the water tank power switch (in front of the tank)
to open until after the laser tube inside the water cycle is normal, and then switch to turn the device
(including leakage protection, emergency stop switch and the main power switch) .
Adjust optical path: The important step in using laser engraving machine is adjust optical path .

Laser cutting machine, must the optical path is adjusted ok ,can carving or cutting samples, the
optical path adjustment directly affects the laser engraving, the quality of cutting material.
Step:The first step: the laser power is adjusted to the below 50% ,make that the laser power not too
strong. second step: laser tube and the first lens reflex optical path adjustment:
put The dimming paper (paper tape) on front of the first lens , click on "burst / Pulse" button of panel
( tap it immediately released, can be seen laser hit spots in the dimming paper ), look at the spot falls
in the middle position of the first lens. If you are hit in the middle, complete this step; if not hit the
lens or missed, you need to adjust the primary mirror frame (or laser tube) the location and height, to
enable it to meet the above criteria. (See Figure 8)

2. The third step: Adjustment of Optical path between the first lens reflex and the second lens reflex.:
First, put the lens dimming paper (paper tape) onto front of the second mirror frame, and use the arrow
keys to move to the upper left corner of the rail position, click the "burst / Pulse" button to see the
location of the laser spot. Then move the rail to the lower left corner, the same press "burst / Pulse"
button to see if these two spots (upper left and lower left corner) position are coincident. If the spot
overlaps is located near the center of the lens ,this mean the optical path between of first lens with the
second lens is correct; if not, you will need to make adjustments coincide with screws behind the first
reflecting lens on the primary mirror frame, the two points moved together, and then adjust the left
and right upper and lower primary mirror frame (X direction) position so that the first lens reflex
reflected light hit on the second mirror (center). (See Figure 9)

The fourth step: Optical path adjustment between the second and the third reflecting mirror.
First, move the laser head to the left of the X axis, put the test paper in front of the hole of the
laser head, press "laser" slightly and check the spot. Then move the laser head to the right of
the X axis, press "laser" again, and check whether the two spots coincide with each other, if
coincide and the two spots are within the hole of the laser head, then optical path is correct. If
not, please adjust the screws on the second mirror holder to reach above standard(Attention:
the principle of optical path adjustment is the same between mirror 1 and 2, 2 and 3). Then
adjust the location of second mirror holder (Y-axis direction) and the height of the laser tube,
to make sure the spots are within the hole of laser head (center is better). (Please see Picture
10)

Step Five: the optical path adjustment between the third reflective lens and the focusing lens
Put the dimmer paper into the below of laser head, then press the“Pulse” button, check if the spot hit
the middle of dimming paper。If it happened to be in the middle, the light path is positive; if the spot
not in the center position,you need move the laser head.(there are three screws in the laser head,you
can adjust the laser head by these three screws)to achieve adjust the optical path, make the spot hit to
the center of dimming paper。(Figure11)

Step Six: Laser processing
After adjust the light path, use the focus plate measuring the focal length, after that, the
article can be processed。(Figure12)

Five equipment processing operations
Before the device operating, according to the "System operating instructions" describes, download the process
files into laser device.

5.1 Please place the work-piece on the working platform of the machine before processing.(Note:
to ensure flatness of the processed material, otherwise it will affect the processing results)

5.2 Click “on, down, left, right” button on the device control panel, Moving the laser head to the
proper location of materials to determine the origin,(press “Origin” button)。

5.3Adjust the focus lens(Figure12)

5.4Click"start" button in control panel, processing start。

Six Equipment Maintenance and precautions

The key to make the laser equipment normally stable operation is to do routine maintenance and
equipment maintenance. It is not only to extend the life of the machine, reduce equipment failure rates,
but also to improve product quality if the equipment maintenance is good。To make better use of this
equipment, the following is a brief introduction about machine routine maintenance and precautions.

6.1 Ground Wire

Because of it is containing switching power supply, laser power,filter and the sensitivity of the original
device,and these parts will have some degree of static interference during usage.To minimize static
electricity, as well as to reduce a failure due to static electricity caused, there should note the following
point before installation :
6.1.1 if the Voltage is 220V, if out of range or unstable, regulator should be installed.
6.1.2 if Power outlet is the Left 'zero' Right 'fire' standard wiring, and the ground terminal should
be reliable, grounded。If not, it should be adjusted.
6.1.3 If the customer has a reliable earth ground ( Or an iron bar longer than one meter to hit
underground, grounded)
You can install the equipment When the above conditions are met 。 Due to the limited
carrying capacity of plug row,don’t install to much machine-independent electrical
equipment 。In order to ensure personal safety of operator and the normal operation of the

machine,in any case ground must be reliably grounded.

6.2 Equipment maintenance

6.2.1 water change and water tank clean ( It recommends cleaning the tank and replace the
circulating water once a week)
Note:it must be guaranteed there are filled with recycled water in laser tube before the
machine works. Circulating water quality and water temperature directly affects the life of
the laser tube , We recommended to use purified water, and the water temperature is
controlled at below 35 ℃. If exceed 35 ℃, it need to replace the circulating water or add ice
cubes to the water to reduce the temperature(It recommends that users choose chiller, or use
two tanks).
Clean water tank (water change):firstly off the power,Unplug the tube inlets,,let the laser
tube water flow automatically into the tank,Disconnect the water pipe and Signal line. Open
water tank,Drained soil in the chiller,Replace the circulating water,connect the water pipe
and Signal line, Collated the connectors. Turn on the power,and run for 2-3 minutes(let the
laser tube filled with recycled water).
6.2.2 Clean fan
Fans prolonged use,will accumulate a lot of solid dust inside of the fans, So fans have a lot
of noise,and not good for Exhaust and remove taste. When the fan suction is Inadequate and
smoke is not smooth,it should be off the power firstly,remove the into wind tube and out
wind tube,Remove dust inside,Then make the fan upside down,and Slide the fan,until
Clean up,then install the fan well.
6.2.3 clean the mirrors (it is recommended to clean mirrors before everyday work,Equipment
to be turned off)
There are three reflect mirrors and one focus lens on engraving machine, 1 reflector is
located at the emission outlet of the laser tube ( That is the upper left corner of the
machine),2 mirrors in the beam of the left,3 mirror at the top of the fixed portion of the
laser head,focus lens is located in adjustable lens barrel lower part of laser tube),Laser
light is emitted from the laser head after reflected and focused by the lens. Lens easily
coated with dust or other contaminants,Resulting in loss of the laser or lens damage,When
the 1st and the 2nd lens cleaning, needn’t to be removed,Just moistened with cleaning
fluid lens cleaning paper carefully wipe along the edge of the rotating lens center 。 3rd

mirrors and focus lens need to be removed from frame , Wiping the same way , after
wiping,install back as original.
NOTES:
(1) Gently wipe the lens, not be damaged surface coating;
(2) Wipe process should be gently,Prevent falls;
(3) Make sure to keep downward convex of focusing mirror when installation。
6.2.4 Rail cleaning(Recommend cleaned once every two weeks, shutdown)
Rails, linear axis as one of the core components of the device , Its function is to play a
guiding and supporting role。In order to ensure that the machine has a high precision,It
requires its guides, linear guide with high precision and good movement stability。during
operation , because of the article will produce a lot of corrosive dust and fumes in the
processing,and These large quantities of smoke and dust deposited on the rail, linear shaft
surface,not only have a significant impact on the precision,but also will become pitting in
the surface of guide linear axis , Shorten equipment life 。 In order to make the machine
works properly and stable,ensure the quality of processed products,it should be do a a
careful routine maintenance work for guide, linear axis

Precautions:
(1) Prepare clean rail——Dry cotton cloth and lubricants 。 Engraving machine rail can be
separate into linear guide rail(rail and slide), roller guide (nylon wheels, bearings, eccentric
shaft).
(2) Clean linear guides:Firstly, moves the laser head to the far right (or left),Wipe clean with
a dry cloth until shiny,Coupled with a little oil,push the laser head slowly around a few
minutes,Allow oil can be evenly distributed。
(3) Cleaning roller rail:The beam is moved to the inside,open the both side of the machine
cover,Wipe clean the place on both sides of the rail and the roller contact with a dry cloth,
Then move the beam,clean up the remaining places,Without oil。
6.2.5 Screw and coupling fastening
Motion system after a long time work,the screws and coupling in Motion connection will
loose ,it will affect the stability of mechanical motion,so it need observe if there are any
abnormal sound or anomalies for transmission components during machine works,Identify

problems in a timely manner and maintain strongly。In the same time after a long work,
should reinforce the screws individually by tools 。 The first reinforcement should be in
about a month after the devices working.
6.2.6 Optical inspection
laser engraving machine Optical system is reflected by the reflect mirror and focus lens
together to complete,Focus Lens shift problem does not exist in the optical path,But three
mirrors are fixed by the mechanical part,most Likely offset,It is recommended that users
should be check if each light path is normal before work。
6.3 Equipment Considerations
6.3.1First through the water before turning,during the working, it should be keeping check of the
circulation of water , to ensure the water cycle normal in the laser tube,To protect the
normal use of the laser tube.
6.3.2 Follow the order of the machine switch:First open water pump (water ciller)when power
on,then open the power switch,Finally open laser switch。Off laser switch firstly when
power off,Then turn off the power switch,finally off the pump ( water chiller)
6.3.3 Controlling the temperature of water in the laser tube,Usually not more than 35 degrees,
When the machine runs out of in winter, let go the water in tube,prevent Laser frozen。
6.3.4 Clean machine,In particular lenses,Dirty lenses will affect the light reflection efficiency,
processing of samples, the lens itself life,Wipe the lenses gently use a cotton swab dipped
in alcohol, in case Scraped surface of the lens。
6.3.5 Do not place flammable items in Laser reflection region and the machine around,Do not
place reflective items inner platform.
6.3.6 During Process, the operator can not deserting machine, must always pay attention to the
work of the state machine,If meet unusual circumstances, please shut off immediately.
6.3.7The ground is very important, the machine must be completely grounded , The machine's
power must to be shared with a computer with a same power strip and the ground.
