Resolution Alpha

The General Assembly

Recognizes the need of clear verdict of the Bangladeshi Liberation Conflict in December
1971,

Expressing its satisfaction in the mutual onlook of the member nations in preserving human
life in the subject conflict,

Welcoming member nations to ratify the following resolution to attain and respect the goal
of the Geneva Conventions,

Taking note that in this context; The Republic of India is the “defender” where The Islamic
Republic of Pakistan as the “aggressor”,

Mindful of the provisions of the Article 3 and 4 of the UN charter,

1. Noting General Assembly resolution 2793 of 7th December 1971;


2. Demands for the upgrade of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and
Pakistan;
a. It shall determine its own procedure. It will allocate among its members, alternate members,
their assistants, and its personnel the duties as needed for the realization of its mission and
the reaching of its conclusions.
b. To achieve presence of this party in both the West and Eastern Theatre of the subcontinent
as considered by the United Nations Security Council
3. Calls upon the members of the General Assembly to respect the Article 4 of the 3rd Geneva
Convention of 1949 by taking due measure to preserve human life with regard to
a. Treatment of prisoners of war
b. Treatment of the civilian population
c. Provisions for the injured, sick regardless of their classification as a:
combatant or a non-combatant;
4. Notes the infraction by both parties: Republic of India and The Islamic Republic of Pakistan
with respect to the Karachi Agreement due to the act of:
i. Laying of new minefields
ii. Reinforcing local outfits with warfare equipment for whatever purpose it
may concern
iii. Strengthening of existing defenses;
5. Suggest the establishment of an independent body under the supervision of the United
Nations Security Council, which is validated by Chapter VII of the United Nations charter to
achieve the following;
6. Requests the inclusion of the “International Monetary Fund”, organ of the United Nations to
coordinate the financial aid provided to the parties in question from other member nations
of the General Assembly;
7. Recommends that the members for this General Assembly consider the following subclauses
in context to the governance of East Pakistan or Bangladesh;
