Generally the languages most sought by employers are English, German and French. However,
Chinese is gaining prominence due to job opportunities generated by the market in that
country.
These are the reasons to raise awareness of the enormous importance of studying and
learning English, as an alternative parallel to the university career.
English is still one of the great pending subjects of Spanish professionals: according to the
Business English Index, our country suspends when dealing with fluency in this language, with
a 4.43 on average. However, the percentage of job offers that require it does not stop growing.
A recent report by Adecco and Infoempleo reveals that 32.8% of job offers published require
knowing at least one foreign language. So that you do not fall behind, today we are going to
talk about the importance of good English for your work life and to teach you how to level up
or undertake without realizing it.
1. In addition, knowing the right expressions and knowing how to function with
ease will be of great help if we have to contact customers, suppliers or foreign
partners. Here are five tips for learning English (almost) without realizing it:
Use audiovisual resources. Trying to memorize English reading a book, as in
school, not only results in torture but is very ineffective. Activate more areas
of your brain with infographics, videos and other audiovisual materials to learn
English.
2. Integrate English as part of your leisure. If you enjoy reading, watching series
or going to the movies in your spare time, you can level up quickly changing
these activities to English.
3. Use apps and podcasts To learn English in your spare time. On public
transport, while waiting for someone ... If you have five minutes and a
smartphone, you can learn English wherever you are.
4. Dare to speak in English. The fastest and most effective way to learn a
language is to force yourself to speak it. If you are not lucky enough to have
friends, you can search for a language exchange or, if you live in a large city,
research activities in English.
5. Pay attention to the expressions and phrases made. If you want to take your
English to the next level and sound like a native, literal translation is not
enough. You need to have expressions or slangs to face the different situations
of the day to day.
