Meditations
Fourfold Breathing:
This excercise, in concert with void, is important for meditation.
Simply breathe in for the count of 4, hold for the count of 4, breath
out for the count of 4, hold for the count of 4, and repeat. Initially,
this will require focus, but as you continue this practice it will
become second nature, and like void meditation ridicously simple
to slip in to.
Water: For the first week, draw out a blue inverted triangle, and
repeat the procedure from week 1 of the fire meditation with it.
For the second week, repeat week 2 of the fire meditaiton with the
water triangle.
For the third week, set a bowl of water before you and stare at it,
meditating upon it.
For the fourth week, set a bowl of water before you and, keeping
your eyes closed, visualize the water and meditate upon it.
Air: For the first week, same procedure but with a yellow upright
triange with a horizontal line through its middle.
For the second week, same proceedure as before but with the
yellow triangle.
For the third week, focus upon the air around you and the air you
are breathing in (4 fold breathing is particularly excellent for this)
and meditate upon it.
For the fourth week, same as before but with your eyes closed.
Earth: For the first week, same proceedure but with a black
inverted triangle with a horizontal line through its center.
For the second week, same proceedure with the black inverted
triangle with a horizontal line through its center.
For the third week, place a container of earth before you and stare
at it, focusing upon it.
For the fourth week, place the container of earth before it and
meditate upon it with closed eyes.
Note: You can do the elemental meditations concurrently ( i.e.
allocate an hour to do 15 mins for fire, 15 for water, 15 for air, 15
for earth).
Eucharist
This practice is absolutely necessary for a magicians advancement.
When one invokes, they take in energy but this energy is not fully
integrated into the magicians being/subtle body, thus wasting the
energy. Eucharist integrates the energy, empowering and
acclimating the magician.
To begin, have before you some food or drink. Place your hand
upon the food/drink and project the energy into it via willing it to
flow through your hand and into the food/drink (if your astral
senses are sufficiently advanced you can observe this). Afterwards,
consume the food or drink. Its not necessary, but it can increase the
effect if you dedicate the food or drink to yourself/your will/your
highest conception of divinity/what have you.
Thats all there is to it. Simple, but incredibly important.
Yoga
There are many facets and types of Yoga, but for this we will focus
upon two aspects: Asana (posture) and Dhyana (focus). Assume
these positions once a day for 15 minutes, holding these positions
while focusing upon your body, paying attention to how your body
feels while holding these asanas (initially these will be painful, but
with practice they will become easy)
The God: Sit in a chair, head up, back straight, knees together hand
on knees, eyes closed.
The Dragon: buttocks resting on the heels, toes turned back, back
and head straight, hands on thighs.
The Ibis: Stand, hold left ankle with right hand (and alternatively
practice right ankle in left hand), free forefinger on lips.
The Thunderbolt: Sit, left heel pressing up against the anus, right
foot poised on its toes, the heel covering the genitals, arms
stretched out over the knees, head and back straight.
Notes
This is a solar rite in which you invoke the various forms of the
sun. It has 4 parts, to be performed at 4 different times of the day.
It was written for members of A.'.A.'. but can be conducted by
anyone, the differece being that members of the A.'.A.'. will use the
signs of their grade.
The ritual is as follows:
1. Greet the sun at dawn facing east and give the ritual sign (which
will be provided below) and recite: "Hail unto thee who art Ra in
thy rising, even unto thee who art Ra in thy strength, who travellest
over the Heavens in thy bark at the uprising of the Sun. Tahuti
standeth in his splendor at the prow, and Ra Hoor abideth at the
help. Hail unto thee from the abodes of Night!"
2. At noon greet the sun facing south, give the ritual sign, and
recite: "Hail unto thee who art Ahathoor in thy triumphing, even
unto thee who art Ahathoor in thy beauty, who travellest over the
Heavens in thy bark at the mid-course of the Sun. Tahuti standeth
in his splendour at the prow, and Ra Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail
unto thee from the abodes of Morning."
3. At sunset, greet the sun facing west, give the ritual sign and
recite: "Hail unto thee who art Tum in thy setting, even unto thee
who art Tum in thy joy, who travellest over the heavens in thy bark
at the down going of the sun. Tahuti standeth in his splendour at
the prow, and Ra Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail unto thee from the
abodes of the Day"
4. At night, greet the sun facing North, giving the ritual sign and
recite: "Hail unto thee who art Khephra in thy hiding, even unto
thee who art Khephra in thy silence, who travellest over the
heavens in thy bark at the midnight hour of the sun. Tahuti standeth
in his splendor at the prow, and Ra Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail
unto thee from the abodes of the Evening.
5. After each of these invocations, give the sign of Silence (as
described in the Pentagram ritual section) and the perform an
adoration. This will very based on who you are, but in general it
should be a verse from your religion/traditions holy book that is in
keeping with the theme of the cycle of life and death/movement of
the universe. Alternatively, you may compose your own adoration,
again as long as it is in keeping with the theme.
The ritual signs:
Dawn: All four L.V.X. signs
Noon: Sign of fire
Sunset: Sign of air
Midnight: Sign of water
Note: when performing the godform of that invocation. I will write
of godform assumption later in this text, but for now will give the
godforms relevant to this rite.
Ra- Sun god
Ahathoor-goddess of love, music, dance.
Tum-first formed of the nine primary egyptian gods
Khephra-form of Ra as a scarab
Mantras
Mantras are extremely useful short phrases and words that can be
employed by a magician. Some examples include
Aum Namah Shiva- Mantra to invoke Shiva
Ararita- Unifies the universe as a macro for the magician to
interact and manipulate
Eh Yah Achad- centers the magician to provide focus
Apo Pantos Kakadaimonos- repels and banishes e/vil spirits
Vibration
I will include a brief explaination of vibrating words. The principle
behind it is this: energy flows with respiration. When vibrating a
word, you are projecting energy outward in a frequency attuned to
the force associated with whatever name or word you are vibrating.
In general, its suggested that you practice vibrating any particular
word a few times to get a hang of it.
Invocation
Invocation is the act of identifying with a particular
being/concept/force to the point that you take on the
energy/aspects/traits of that particular being/concept/force. You can
think of it as internal summoning. Its primary uses are: to gain
energy, to use the authority of that which is invoked, to gain info
regarding that which is invoked, to attune yourself and take on
aspects of that which is invoked.
As a further note, an axiom among magicians: "The key to
advancement in Magick is to invoke often".
Assuming Godforms
The assumption of Godforms can be summed up as the height of
invocation. You can consider it a reverse possession in a sense.
When you assume a Godform, you temporarily ARE that God. The
uses of this are self explainatory.
Divination
It is strongly recommended that the aspiring magician acquire a
deck of Tarot and study its symbolism thoroughly. Many and great
are its mysteries.
Upon getting a deck, procure a journal to record your readings as
accurately as possible, and if possible whether or not your reading
came true.
Further Journaling
Get another journal in which to record any dreams upon waking.
Meditate upon these, as they are a pipeline to your subconcious.
Additionally, its not unheard of that some dreams may be
prophetic.
