DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGES OF THE STUDENTS IN ONLINE

ENROLLMENT AT MISMNHS

Chapter 1: The Problem and Its Background

INTRODUCTION
Enrollment is always needed by every student upon entering schools or universities
either public or private, and it serves as the first impression of the student to the whole
institution. Today, computers and internet has become an important element in the life
of people around the world. The young generation use those technological advances at
incredibly faster and more successful rate than the previous generations. Online
Enrollment was implemented, Online student enrollment system enables students to
enroll into their subjects prior to the commencement of their semesters. This enrollment
system international students to enroll through internet without traveling to the campus.
Online Enrollment is nothing without internet. Internet is a global computer network
providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of
interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Online Enrollment provide the easier and faster way of transactions to its user.
Population of students in almost all-educational institution is rapidly increasing so great
demand in teaching force is also becoming higher. Unfortunately, there are some
inconveniene in online enrollment this study will identify the difficulties of the students.
This study will be great help to the following:

*Students
*Parents
*Future Researchers

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

According to Wikipedia:

The origins of the Internet date back to research commissioned by the federal
government of the United States in the 1960s to build robust, fault-tolerant
communication with computer networks.] The primary precursor network,
the ARPANET, initially served as a backbone for interconnection of regional academic
and military networks in the 1980s. The funding of the National Science Foundation
Network as a new backbone in the 1980s, as well as private funding for other
commercial extensions, led to worldwide participation in the development of new
networking technologies, and the merger of many networks. The linking of commercial
networks and enterprises by the early 1990s marked the beginning of the transition to
the modern Internet, and generated a sustained exponential growth as generations of
institutional, personal, and mobile computers were connected to the network. Although
the Internet was widely used by academia since the
1980s, commercialization incorporated its services and technologies into virtually every
aspect of modern life.

Most traditional communication media, including telephony, radio, television, paper

mail and newspapers are reshaped, redefined, or even bypassed by the Internet, giving
birth to new services such as email, Internet telephony, Internet television, online music,
digital newspapers, and video streaming websites. Newspaper, book, and other print
publishing are adapting to website technology, or are reshaped into blogging, web
feeds and online news aggregators. The Internet has enabled and accelerated new
forms of personal interactions through instant messaging, Internet forums, and social
networking. Online shopping has grown exponentially both for major retailers and small
businesses and entrepreneurs, as it enables firms to extend their "brick and mortar"
presence to serve a larger market or even sell goods and services entirely
online. Business-to-business and financial services on the Internet affect supply
chains across entire industries.

From onlineschools.org:

Though it may seem that online education had its beginnings in the late 1900s, the
concept of distance learning first came into practice in the mid 19th century when the
U.S. Postal Service was developed. The notion of reliable, long-distance
correspondence led to the development and implementation of what were called
commercial ‘correspondence colleges', where instructional missives would be
distributed through the postal service between students and professors. Today, at-
distance education programs have become more sophisticated and accessible due to
the proliferation of the web and digital technology. Elite institutions around the world
now offer open courseware, online degrees, and online classes that are both
legitimizing and popularizing the idea of education from a computer.

Today it is estimated that 1 out of 4 college students are enrolled in at least one
online classes. In 2009 there were over 4.5 million students taking online classes, with a
Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) being the top degree offered in the
United States. This trend seems like to continue into the future: currently, 83% of all
U.S. institutions that offer online courses say they expect an increase in online
enrollment in the coming decade.

OBJECTIVES
*To identify the problems of the students in online enrollment.

*To know how many students are having difficulties in online enrollment.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Who are affected if the instruction were incomprehensible?

How many students are affected by this kind of inconvenience?

What are the effects of onine enrollment to the parents?
