3.0 General
The scope of this document is to provide design calculation for foundation, supporting exchanger
E35307/08 at grade level. The equipment is supported on 2 saddles which are supported on pedestal
and isolated foundation. Preliminary loading as received from Mechanical is considered for foundation
design.
For location of equipement, refer Navis snap shot below. Due to overlapping of exchanger foundation
with Equipment Supporting Structure foundation. It is proposed to combine this foundation into a
mat foundation. For Euipment supporting Structure loading refer document NL8528C050003.
Design of foundation is carried out by means of Mat 3D software using EN code provisions.
The foundation is designed for serviceability and strength purpose.
Serviceability check
The stability and safe bearing capacity of foundations are checked for unfactored load combinations
Strength design
Pedestal and foundation design is done based on forces taken from factored load combinations

5.1 Primary Load Cases : Primary Load cases considered for this calculation are as below :
Erection, Ee = 256.00 kN
Operating, Eo = 279.00 kN (Actual load is 535 Kn, 535-256 = 279)
Test, Et = 343.00 kN (Actual load is 599 Kn, 599-256 = 343)
Bundle Pull, Bp = 0.00 kN (Not applicable)
Above loads are converted into saddle reactions based on the CG of vessel (Sliding & Fixed)
For current case, CG is considered to be located at centre.

Wind load acting on the structure is applied as a Nodal load at beam-column junction.
Thus,
[ Design wind pressure ] x [Effective projected area normal to wind of all the elements meeting at node.]
= Projected area of all elements normal to wind / Area enclosed by frame boundary
This exercise has been done for all the individual frames.
Wind load acting on all Equipments / Piping etc. is applied as given by client.
