III. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS:

 Power Point Presentation

 Visual Aids
 Actual Resistor
 Worksheets

Strategy: Performance-based strategy,

Visualization/Imaging

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Classroom Routine

Greetings!
Opening Prayer
Checking of Attendance
B. Learning Stage

a. Exploration( Activity )

 Showing of picture of the Philippine Flag.

 Do you know what the color of Philippine flag stands for?
 So, what is the meaning of blue?
 is the symbol for peace, truth and justice
 How about the red?
 is the symbol for patriotism and valor
 Do you know that, not only the Philippine flag has colors and
meaning? A resistor has colors and corresponding meanings
too.

b. Firming up( Analysis )

Show Resistor Color Code Chart

 Activity ( form a group of 2)
 Compose a song/rhyme using the following colors:

(Present your output in the class)

BLACK, BROWN, RED, ORANGE, YELLOW,

GREEN, BLUE, VIOLET, GRAY, WHITE

 What is Resistor?
Resistor - A resistor is an electrical component that limits or
regulates the flow of electrical current in an electronic circuit.
 What is Resistance?
Resistance- is measure in ohms after the discoverer of a law
relating voltage to current.
 What is tolerance?
Tolerance – the fourth color in the 3-band color coding that
indicates the percentage of deviation from its color coded
value.
 What is resistor color coding?
Resistor color coding -a scheme to determine the value of
resistors by color bands printed on their bodies as code.
c. Deepening ( Abstraction )

Show the video clip to the students of the resistor color coding
tutorial.

 Activity
 Provided with the worksheets, it shows how the
students analyze and understand the video shown.

 How the values of resistors do measure?

 Through its color bands
 How does the resistor work?
Resistors are the most basic and important passive
elements. There must be one resistor in every electronic
circuit.
Resistor can be used as:
 Testing load
 Fuse
 Discharging of capacitors

d. Transferring ( Application )

 Group activity ( form a group of 2, write your answer

 Provided with the worksheet to the students for the
activity.
 Actual resistor
(The students will perform the actual resistor and
determine its value through the resistor color bands.)

 VALUING
 Base on what you have learned in this topic/ activity,
who can now share their learning’s?

 What will happen if there is no resistor in electronic

circuit?
V. ASSESSMENT
