ABSTRACT

This research aims to find out how public relations role and function on properly cyber
PR practices in order to retain customers itself. Because in the end customers will
continue to seek relationships with organizations or marketers who are willing to be
the place of the sacred heart. Formulation of the problem in the ask are: how are the
role and functions of public relations in practice cyber PR by PT. PLN (Persero)
Yogyakarta Area? And what are the factors that become supporters and restricting the
role and functions of public relations in practice cyber PR by PT. PLN (Persero)
Yogyakarta Area?. This research uses qualitative research methods. The technique of
data collection for this research through in-depth interviews, observation and the study
of literature or documents on the subject of research i.e. publicist PT. PLN (Persero)
Yogyakarta Area as well as the Office of Yogyakarta Area PLN. Data analysis on
qualitative research in General include the reduction of data and interpretation of the
data. The results of this study showed that most of the implementation of the practice
of cyber Public Relations that have been run by PT PLN (Persero) Indonesia's overall
divendorkan on 3rd party called our customer service officer. In general the practice
of cyber PR has been integrated in the Centre with the name of the Contact Center PLN
123. Cyber PR practices with the name of the Contact Center PLN 123 is held to
maximize service to the customers of PT PLN (Persero) Indonesia. So was the same as
what happened to PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta Area. Publicist PT. PLN (Persero)
acted as the only Yogykarta Area admin from social media Twitter and Facebook "PLN
Jogja" only. Although there are already social media are integrated in the Centre, but
publicist PLN Area of Yogyakarta still make their own local social media in order to
provide information, educate and inform. Because, still less proved to give excellent
service to customers when relying on Contact Center PLN 123 only. In the
implementation of the practice of cyber PR which has been run by PT PLN (Persero)
Indonesia teutama for PLN Office area in Yogyakarta, publicist is far more influential
in the form of a communications technician and a facilitator of communication.
Communications technician for the role are visible from public relations to manage
news through writing, placing messages on some communication tools of
communication such as facebook ' PLN ' Jogja and twitter ' PLN ' Jogja and producing
news uploaded on any social media outlets facebook and twitter "PLN Yogyakarta '.
This can occur because the Yogyakarta area only PLN public relations mengengola,
produces and puts the news in the form of writing. Of the functions of public relations
in the practice area of Yogyakarta PLN cyber PR is more visible functions as a builder
of relationships
