INTRODUCTION:

PAPYRASE IL is a specially developed Hemicellulase Enzyme that would catalyse controlled

modification of cellulosic fiber and dislodge Ink and Dirt from waste paper. PAPYRASE IL is a
ready to use liquid enzyme, which can be used with or without dilution in the De-Inking process
between 6.0 to 8.0 pH and 25oC to 70 Deg C Temperatures.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

Appearance: Amber liquid

pH (range): 4.5 ± 1.0
Density: 1.15 – 1.25 g/ml
Odor: Sweet Fermented odor

KEY FEATURES:

PAPYRASE IL, when used within suitable process parameters will deliver following benefits:

1. PAPYRASE IL De-inking can replace Alkaline De-inking process by replacing Caustic Soda
and most other Harsh De-inking chemicals.

2. By efficiently detaching ink particles from the fiber, the PAPYRASE IL will facilitate the
removal of any kind of tough and polymeric inks, resulting in a net improvement of
brightness for paper made from MOW/ONP/CBS stocks.

3. By hydrolyzing fines attached to ink particle, PAPYRASE IL renders a reduced level of

bonding between the Ink Particle and Fiber, resulting it to be easy to dispense.

4. By fibrillating recycled fiber, PAPYRASE IL will enhance strength properties of paper.

5. PAPYRASE IL will reduce fine and fluff content and increase bulk and softness in tissues.

USAGE HIGHLIGHTS:

1. PAPYRASE IL will function in a wide pH range of 5.5 to 8.0. However, for most efficient
enzyme action it is recommended to use this product at a Neutral pH. Amongst the multiple
advantages of Neutral De-inking are also to save fiber and reduce environmental impact.

2. PAPYRASE IL works between 25 deg C to 70 deg C.

3. PAPYRASE IL can be used in Pulping or Floatation stages, depending on process and

equipment. Works best with a multiple stage flotation system.

4. PAPYRASE IL requires a Dosage level of 100 to 150 grams per ton of dry pulp. In
processes with higher retention times and process temperatures, Dosage can be optimized to
lower levels.

5. PAPYRASE IL will totally eliminate Alkali from De-inking process. Oxidative bleaching
agents can be reduced substantially and a non-ionic soaping agent is recommended to
efficiently extract ink particles.

6. PAPYRASE IL will result in higher brightness of paper when used to maximize the enzyme
performance by controlling reaction conditions.

7. PAPYRASE IL will also facilitate in Fibrillation of recycled fiber resulting in reduction of

refiner load and higher refiner throughput can be achieved. Better Drainage rates would result
in reduced steam consumption and increased machine runnability.

8. In tissue paper lines, PAPYRASE IL will result in substantial increase in ‘bulk’ and reduced
‘dusting’. Enzymatic De-inking will also result in a better softness of tissue and overall
quality enhancement of the end product.

STABILITY AND SHELF LIFE:

The shelf life of PAPYRASE IL is a minimum of 12 months, if stored in a controlled environment

at 25°C or lower . Do not allow product to freeze. For higher temperature regions, store drums away
from sunlight and process heat.

DE-ACTIVATION:

PAPYRASE IL can be de-activated by raising the pH above 11.0 or temperature above 80 deg C
for more than 5 minutes. Oxidizing agents like Peroxide can be used to de-activate the enzyme. Since
Enzyme will be Denatured in the Drying Section, there will be no residual Enzyme activity on
produced paper.

PACKING:

PAPYRASE IL is packaged in 25 kgs and 210 kgs polyethylene drums.
