Non-Aqueous Systems
Product Code # 70365
DESCRIPTION ADVANTAGES
General Chemistry: Modified high molecular • High degree of thixotropy
weight castor oil based ester
• Minimal effect on gloss and color
Troythix™A is a bodying agent for • No effect on water resistance, or dry
nonaqueous coatings and is supplied as a white • Rapid and stable viscosity development
powder. It is a polymerized chemically inert • Good balance of sag control and leveling
organic ester that is activated by heat and shear
to impart the following rheological properties: INCORPORATION
Troythix™A must be incorporated during the
• High thixotropy pigment dispersion stage of manufacture.
• Sag resistance Optimum results are obtained with high speed
• Pigment suspension dispersers and media mills. A minimum
incorporation temperature of 145°F (63°C) is
• Improved brushability
required for systems based on aliphatic
• Reduced penetration
hydrocarbon solvents. With aromatic
• Viscosity increase
hydrocarbon and oxygenated solvents, best
• Reduced pigment flooding and floating results are obtained within a dispersion
temperature range of 110°F (43°C) to 130°F
