 INTRODUCTION

Assessment is very important in the teaching learning process. In

fact, a teacher needs to assess this process and to know whether
the goals behind the course are being achieved or not. Therefore
he/she has to assess what the students are learning and even
his/her performance. However, the traditional way of assessment
namely testing is not really efficient for many reasons.
A test which is done under time pressure can never reflect the real
talents and abilities of a learner.
Better approaches are needed to assess in the teaching and
learning process, one which involve the learners and encourage
their awareness of learning. In fact, the students themselves
should contribute to the assessment of the course they are taking.
 INTRODUCTION

Portfolio assessment
Portfolio assessment is important because it measures the progress
of a student and examines the instructional process not just the final
product.

Portfolios assessments can provide multiple levels of learning

evidence and demonstrate what students knows and how he uses this
knowledge.

The contents of portfolios (artifacts/evidence) can include

drawings, photos, writing or other work samples and copies of
standardized or program-specific tests. Data sources can include parents,
staff, and other community members who know the participants or
program, as well as the self-reflections of participants themselves.

Therefore a solid portfolio can truly assess a student's development.

As a future educator, it is important for me to have

Methods (Assessment for Learning) as one of my

subject. This subject helps me to be aware in what

will be the education in the next years. On the other

hand, this subject show me what are the learners in

this century and for that this subject is preparing

me to be a teacher that will give the needs of the

21st century learners.

 REFLECTION

As a future educator, it is important for me to

have Method (Assessment of Learning 1) as

one of my subject. This subject helps me to be

aware on what will be the education on next

year's. On the other hand, this subject show

me what is the learners in this century and for

that this subject is preparing me to be a

teacher that will give the needs of the 21st

century learners.
 REFLECTION
Looking back in this class, I have realized just how

much my writing has improved since the beginning of the

quarter and that first assignment. This portfolio was made

so that I can show off what I have learned from this class

confident in my work and over-taught everything into

someone who found her own writing style.

There are many things that I have learned about

myself this quarter. I have learned that if I do not over-

think my papers while I am writing them and stop trying to

make them perfect (until the end). This portfolio not only

shows everyone how I have progressed as a student. It

contains not only my best works, but also my mistakes, and

trough the work in here I am able to see the mistakes that I

commonly make while writing such as over-generalizing

things about something before I completely understand it by

myself.
