The major soil type of Miraj city & surrounding is black cotton soil. Miraj & Krishna Ghat occupy vegetation of species such as Acacia aburnea Crows, Sparrows are common birds to be noticed around ghat .
But on the banks of Krishna River the soil changes into red soil. (Murmati), Acacia arabica (Babul), Ziziphus jujuba (Bor). However, this area Other birds like Peacocks, Doves, Owls can be found nearby.
The Miraj city has a Stream (Miraj Odha) which tributes in Krishna contains few matured scattered trees of Azadirachta indica (Neem), Eugenia Cranes spotting is very unlikely near ghats.

- Due to the disturbed Riparian zone near Ghat the River ecosystem is disturbed too.
- Due to less amount of fish; ecosystem in & around river is also disturbed.
