Anti-Racist Gynecologic Care 2019

§ Presented a 45-minute lecture for advance practice nursing students
reviewing the historical links between American slavery and the
development of gynecology. Lecture includes case examples tracing racial
bias into current clinical practice through pelvic exams, cancer screenings
and contraceptive counseling, concluding with a framework for students to
critically review research and clinical practices for racial bias.

§ Presented a 30-minute overview lecture for advanced practice nursing students of the history
of American gynecology, with emphasis on its relationship with slavery and the implications
on current reproductive health disparities due to racism and structural oppression
