COMPANY PROFILE

FLO-TEK is one of the leading manufacturers

of unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes,
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes and
Rotomoulded products in Southern Africa.

History

Radical Investments (Pty) Ltd, trading as FLO-TEK PIPES &

IRRIGATION was established in Botswana in 1998 manufacturing
PVC pipes.

In July 2003 and June 2004, FLO-TEK started manufacturing

rotational moulded products and HDPE pipes respectively.

FLO-TEK was established in South Africa in 2005. A HDPE pipe

factory was started in Clayville in August 2007. FLO-TEK South
Africa has since opened a branch in Cape Town and a subsidiary
company in Dundee.

FLO-TEK has an established company in Angola.

Core Business and Service Proposition

FLO-TEK’s core business is the manufacturing and distribution

of HDPE and PVC-U and PVC-M Pressure and Sewer pipes and
Rotomoulded products.

Our ISO 9001:2008 certificated factories in Johannesburg and

Botswana enable us to manufacture our pipes and tanks as well
as distribute to South Africa, Botswana and other SADC countries.
Our factories have fully equipped laboratories which ensure
FLO-TEK manufactures to SANS, ISO and SAPPMA specifications.

Within our South African and Botswana operations, we have

experienced staff who bring a wealth of knowledge and
experience.

OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
FLO-TEK is led by a small group of professional specialists, each
bringing a set of specific skills and extensive experience to the
management team.
Tony Dean – Chief Executive Officer
Tony has over 23 years of experience in the plastic pipe and
fittings industry. He began his career in the plastics industry with
Main Industries in Cape Town in 1983.
Tony managed and facilitated Main Industries’ name change
to Petzetakis, thus ensuring that this multinational company,
become a household name in the industry. Tony was Managing
Director at Petzetakis from 2002 – 2006.
Tony now heads up FLO-TEK South Africa and the
Botswana operation.
Chakrapani Bandaru (CP) – Chief Financial Officer
CP has been in the industry since October 2005, beginning his
career in the plastics industry with FLO-TEK.
CP has vast experience in financial management and accounting
and runs the financial division for FLO-TEK South Africa.
He belongs to the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the
Institute of Cost and Works Accounts in India.
Neil van Niekerk – Civils Sales Manager
Neil began his career in the plastics industry in 1979 with AECI
which later became Sasol Polymers; they supplied the raw PVC to
pipe manufacturers.
Neil later branched out into the marketing of pipe products and
now heads up the Civils Division at FLO-TEK as Sales Manager.
He is a Fellow of PISA and has belonged to the organization for
over 20 years.
Shaun Hart – Cape Town Branch Manager
Shaun Hart is the Branch Manager for the Cape Town branch and
has been in the pipe industry for over 20 years.
He has an extended knowledge of the industry and has been on
various training courses pertaining pipes and pipe products.
Kallie Roets – Dundee Director
As the new director of FLO-TEK Dundee, Kallie brings with him
8 years experience and a wealth of knowledge to the newest
branch of FLO-TEK South Africa.
Herman Fick – Rotomoulded Products
Sales Manager
Herman has been in the sales and marketing industry for 16 years
and has extensive knowledge on rotomoulded products
and tanks.
Mike Smart – Technical Manager
Mike Smart is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer with a
B. Sc. (Honours) in Civil Engineering and MSAICE. He has worked
as a Consultant and Contracts Manager on a range of civil
engineering projects.
He has held various positions in companies including, inter-
alia, partner in a Consulting Practice, Divisional Manager in a
thermoplastics pipe manufacturing company, Technical Director
in a thermoplastic pipe manufacturing company and Chief
Operations Officer in a thermoplastic pipe installation company.

COMPANY INFORMATION

Raw Material Suppliers Social Responsibility and Investment

Basic raw materials and additives for the manufacture of PVC-U
pipes, HDPE pipes and tanks are supplied to use by ISO
9001 companies.
Quality Management System
FLO-TEK is an approved manufacturer of
the South African Bureau of Standards
for PVC-u pressure pipes, PVC-u sewer
reticulation pipes, PVC-u soil, vent and
waste pipes and HDPE pipes. FLO-TEK
now also has the ISO 9001:2008 Quality
System certification.
Our Quality control laboratory is fully equipped to test the various
pipes as per the relevant quality standards. All the measuring
equipment used are calibrated frequently by recognized institutes
to ensure accurate test results.
As a responsible and progressive corporate citizen, FLO-TEK has
adopted an integrated and balanced approach to Corporate Social
Investment (CSI), as a coordinated and aligned component of its
broad-based economic empowerment programme. We recognize
that no successful and sound business can survive in isolation
of the community within which it operates, and contrary to the
social needs and priorities of the country as a whole.
FLO-TEK strives to add value to the community through its
involvement in Euphoria Adult Centre for the mentally handicapped
in Clayville.
While direct financial investment, in the form of funding is limited,
we are in discussion with the board of directors of Euphoria
to provide on an on-going basis, equipment, furniture and aid
wherever necessary.

All raw material received from suppliers are checked and verified.
Supplier test certificates are compulsory with the delivery of
every consignment

FLO-TEK has a wide range of customers varying from Government/

Parastatal departments, multi-national construction companies,
Safripol Sasol and building material suppliers.

Broad-Based Economic Empowerment

FLO-TEK is a BEE compliant company.

The principles of broad-based BEE, through stakeholder

empowerment, have also been integrated into how we do
business, and how we can assist and support our Clients in
how they do their business. The empowerment of women and
the development of skills at lower levels of the organization
to facilitate career and personal growth opportunities are the
particular areas that will continue to receive attention and focus
within our own business.

To date, FLO-TEK has successfully qualified for numerous

government, parastatal and NGO projects and tenders on grounds
of its present BEE status.

Progress towards a progressive but realistic strategic economic

empowerment target, both directly and indirectly, is being
made on a broad front. Leadership of the overall transformation
programme rests with the management and the stakeholders
oversee the application of the Transformation and broad-based
BEE Strategies within and without the organization.
