The final year project is the conclusion of the degree, it
gives students a chance to demonstrate all they have
learned. The project module is very different from
other modules. The project tests students' ability to:
design, engineer and evaluates quality systems. Most
importantly this project is very helpful for career
improvement.
Hand-picked a topic from the area of interest
There will be a lot of biomedical subjects and several
technologies but there will be one field that fascinated
more, then chose a topic under the domain and go
through some of the research papers related to the
topic.

It might even be a topic that did not study in a course but

something that is emerging as like IOT, Analytics etc.
Different areas in biomedical
1. Bioinstrumentation.
2. Biomaterials.
3. Biomechanics.
4. Bio signal processing and Analysing.
5. Bio Optics.
6. Cellular, Tissue, and Genetic Engineering.
7. Clinical Engineering.
8. Computational Modelling.
9. Medical Imaging.
10. Nanotechnology.
11. Neural Engineering.
12. Orthopaedic Bioengineering.
13. Rehabilitation Engineering.
14. Telehealth and Biotelemetry
Team selection and Guide
Selection of teammates is very important, the selected
teammate should have the same passion for the area
and topic chosen. Divide the work equally a finished it
within a proper time, the batch count should not exist
then more 3. Students always approach a relevant
guide who is capable of guiding while doing the project
work on the topic they have chosen. Best to have the
frequent and effective meeting with the guide.
Meetings and interactions with guide keep them on
track. Never select a guide who is not really interested
in your work. Students should do take advice from the
seniors about the guide.

Resources Accessibility
For doing good final year projects, having a good team &
an innovative topic alone is not enough. Need a proper
infrastructure and facilities to
work on it hands-on. To identify all
the utilities that you have, right
from the types of equipment
available at your college
laboratories to the paid research
labs in and around your location.

Budget
The budget for project work is
always the criteria that
students and their team should consider when selecting
on their mini or major engineering project. Make a
correct guess, and if they can't – seek assistance from
different fellow experts. Also, study if they will ever
need money for their project work. If the answer is
yes; they need to start searching for the different
sources right away.

Reimbursements of Project Work

Final Year project can improve
the overall percentage of
marks by scoring 90-95%
marks through a good project
selection. A project work in a
good industry can add
additional weight to the CV and also help to get a good
job in the core industries like GE, Philips, Siemens etc
A good project can give the additional advantage if
planning for further studies in abroad. Hence, make
the major project valuable even if it takes a little more
time and effort.

Women continue to face unique barriers in the biomedical
workforce that affect their advancement and retention
in this field. Equality between men and women is one
of the supreme trending topics today and in the past
many years. The labour market has changed
dramatically over the last few decades. Women’s
labour force participation has shot up and women are
receiving college degrees and graduate degrees at
faster rates than men, yet the gender wage gap is
improving very slowly but it is not established
anywhere in the field of biomedical.

Women are suppressed in the field

Most of the biomedical industries keep on conscripting
men moderately than a women, it is founded that the
female biomedical researchers receive significantly less
financial support early in their careers compared with
their male counterparts.
The women felt they are physically not ready for some job
Sales, marketing and service are the most significant job
opportunity for a biomedical engineer, the job
description for the sales and marketing is that you
have to travel much distance and you need to visit
minimum of three multispecialty hospitals per day and
for the service engineer you may have a doctors call at
any time even at midnight. So because of these reasons
most of the women candidates are not shown their
interest in the direction of sales and service biomedical
engineer.

Women are encyclopaedic

Women viewing their attention in the pitch of biomedical
Application engineer and also most of the biomedical
industries are recruiting women employees than male
for the application job, the reality is, that women have
an excellent ability to memorize fine details and thus
excel where biomedical fields necessitate an often
encyclopaedic-like knowledge base when considering
complex biomedical devices.

Companies show a Gender gap

In according to the international Bureau of Labour
Statistics, many of the countries especially in India the
ratio of males to females in BME is somewhere among
4:1.3 depending on the source. The gender gap in
biomedical engineering in the workforce seems to be
more exaggerated than the disparity in degrees
awarded, which might reflect that female BME
graduates either don’t enter the workforce to pursue a
career in biomedical engineering , or that the current
workforce data does not reflect the current percentage
of female BMEs entering the workforce.

Women equalizes men in the coming decade

In the next 20 years, the gap will likely close in most of the
Western world as a result of earlier exposure and
encouragement of women's participation in the
biomedical sciences.
