CHAPTER 3
METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains the research design and the methodology used in conduct of
our study. It includes the sampling technique, population of the study, the
instrument and procedure of gathering data.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study is Descriptive Method of research to determine the possible benefits

that grade 10 students can receive upon taking up Humanities and Social Sciences
Strand in Upper Bicutan National High School for Academic year 2019-2020. We
would see if there is a dependent variables relating to personality, family, interest
and opportunities which can be used as a significant factor influencing the
academic preference of our respondents. This descriptive research would use
quantitative methods to assess the feedback from the respondents and gather an
accurate data.

LOCALE OF THE STUDY

Upper Bicutan National High School (UBNHS) is a public school at the city of
Taguig. The study entitled the possible benefits of grade 10 student can receive
upon taking humanities and social sciences strand.

THE SAMPLE

The target population of our study is grade 10 students during the year 2019-2020
on Upper Bicutan National High School they are came from different sections of
Junior High School that will use as our respondents for our research.
The researcher’s will consider 100 respondents the whole batch has been divided
into 21 sections, these samples shall be randomly selected using stratified random
sampling.

THE INSTRUMENT

For this study, a survey rating scale questionnaire was use to gather the
respondent’s feedback, the questionnaire covers the socio demographic profile of
the respondents such as age, gender, parent’s educational attainment, and interest.
We the researchers made used the questionnaire.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researchers conduct the study personally and distribute the

questionnaire/survey forms to our selected respondent to gathered information
from their feedback from the questionnaire given to them.
