1 Switch Models
These release notes describe the changes, fixes, known issues, and release details that
apply to QLogic 3810 and QLogic 5800V Series Switch firmware, version 8.0.14.19 that was
released in February, 2016.
If you intend to use Enterprise Fabric Suite to manage QLogic 5800V Series switches with
firmware version 8.0.14.xx, you must use Enterprise Fabric Suite version 8.00.12.07 or
later.
The QLogic 3810 switch can be managed with the CLI or with the QuickTools graphical user
interface. QLogic does not support the use of Enterprise Fabric Suite to manage the QLogic
3810 switch.
3 Changes
This version of the firmware requires Java 8. See Section 4 for bug fixes.
The following fixes have been made to the firmware between versions 8.0.14.13 and
8.0.14.19 and between QuickTools versions 8.00.14.08 and 8.00.14.10:

5 Known Issues
The following table identifies the known issues in firmware version 8.0.14.19 and the
QuickTools 8.00.14.10 web applet.
PR Number Problem
Firmware
You may see sluggish response from the CLI when the switch is in a large fabric
(12 or more switches and/or more than 350 devices), and the fabric is being
15409 discovered. For example, fabric discovery would occur when adding a new switch
to the fabric. Discovering the fabric can take from one to five minutes depending
on zoning size and the number of switches.
When upgrading firmware while in maintenance mode, the message WARNING:
16756 This key is not certified with a trusted signature ... appears. This
message is incorrect and should be ignored.
When running internal port loopbacks on a QLogic 5800V/5802V switch,
intermittent failures may be seen when inter-switch links are present. The
17650
workaround is to put the switch in diagnostic mode, or to remove the inter-switch
links.
If QLogic 5800VSeries Switches are configured in a stack with cascading 10G ISLs
(only one ISL between each switch), an Emulex 8G adapter (LP 1200x) running
traffic can experience a timeout when a stack NDCLA or hot reset is performed
109351 using Enterprise Fabric Suite. If the 10G ISL configuration follows QLogic best
practices, the timeout does not occur. For information about best practices and
stacking, see the Stacking section of QLogic 5800V Series Stackable Fibre Channel
Switch Installation Guide, firmware version 8.0).
QuickTools
While running QuickTools, if the IP address of the entry switch is changed, online
10750 help not will open. To access the online help, close the current QuickTools session,
and then reopen QuickTools using the new IP address.
You may see sluggish response from QuickTools when the switch is in a large fabric
(12 or more switches and/or more than 350 devices), and the fabric is being
15438 discovered. For example, fabric discovery would occur when adding a new switch
to the fabric. Discovering the fabric can take from one to five minutes depending
on zoning size and the number of switches.
When a new fabric is added, the Fabric Status bar may incorrectly show a warning
16999 condition related to Nicknames differ. This warning goes away when the fabric is
fully discovered, and nickname conflicts between switches are resolved.
To open the online help in QuickTools on a Mac OS platform, the default browser
18183
must be set to a browser other than the one used to open QuickTools.
