LOCATION

The current location of the superhero is the new neighborhood of combeima located in

Ibagué-Tolima. The community arises from an avalanche of the Combeima River, some

inhabitants of this town lived on the slopes of the combeima river causing a serious state of

emergency in the combeima neighborhood. With the help of the Tolima Governorate it was

relocated on September 11, 1993, since that date the community was established taking the

name "new combeima" as an opportunity to be reborn. The main protagonists of the history

of the neighborhood, are those who started the community, (today they are older adults),

also the children who are vulnerable in this sector.

The start of the neighborhood was quite critical, since many of the people came to an

unfamiliar terrain and without physical structures, just as the current situation in the sector

is quite critical, as it is an area of marketing of narcotic drugs, there is conspiracy to

commit crime and this leads to commit thefts in the same sector with its own people and

outsiders.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

The super hero develops a social function with teenagers saving them from drug addiction

and bad vices, likewise offers food and playful aids to older adults, recovering cultures and

roots of the neighborhood, despite the environment in which they live is surrounded

pollution, in its water sources, streets, pollution from most green areas and solid waste, due
to these conditions the neighborhood has become a meeting point for thieves and drug

addicts polluting society and teenagers of "new combeima".

INTRODUCTION

MAURICIO BERNAL is so the name of the superhero of the new sector of the city Ibagué,

develops different social tasks within his community, at his age 41 years has devoted much

of his life to rescue teenagers, give a better quality of life to the elderly people who live in

“New Combeima”, and ensure the well-being of the safety of their neighborhood, develops

this social service as director of the community action board. At his heart he always has the

idea to serve, because his whole family has lived in the ward since its inception, and wants

a better future for his children, just like all the children who are in their growing stage.
This neighborhood has a high level of danger there are daily robberies, use of short

guns; the goal of the superhero is to fight crime alongside entities that support it in its

cause such as the police, firefighters, psychological and playful aids, many of the

economic resources are obtained by Mauricio and by people who want to unite and

be part of his cause, it has not been an easy task to assume, but still, Mauricio is

recognized and much loved.

This hero develops daily functions for the well-being of the inhabitants, with

adolescents, schools and older adults, identifies the weekly needs and objectives to

find internal or external resources to be able to benefit food most in need of his

community.

IDEAS

Serving society should be an important part of each of human beings but we still don't
all do it, this is not the case of this our superhero Mauricio Bernal a man committed to
the well-being of his community, at the age of his 17 years he came to this
neighborhood being just a teenager and finishing high school by then despite being an
isolated ward did not pose the danger it now is, he grew and as the years passed he
began to feel in his heart the desire to find a way to improve many shortcomings that
he began to identify, Mauritius initiated participation in all the meetings they did in
the communal hall, and improve many shortcomings he identified, Over the years
Mauritius befriended and allied the community spoke to older adults and realized that
many of them had no food or sustenance to survive, as well as watching teenagers
give their hints in the drug addiction and vandalism, over the years Mauritius helped
some people but failed to do it as he wanted, living there he met the one who is his
wife today and gave him a small son, so the growth and environment where his son
would live was the trigger reason for taking over this community, it was there that he
ran to be the representative of the board of communal action and there he began his
work in a more committed way, being the community leader began to make alliances
with entities such as firefighters, national police, some universities, at the moment a
work plan was started which would get resources to improve negative aspects and turn
them into pleasant spaces for all its inhabitants since then every afternoon he does
didactic meetings with the grandparents, spaces where they share and they learn
different kinds of information, their commitment is to be able to feed people who
often go to bed if they can eat food, Mauricio does its best to get financial resources
but when he fails to do it the beauty of his job is that he does so with his own
resources putting the well-being of his community above personal tastes for him,
children and adolescents offers educational activities to try to rescue them that do not
fall into the vices.
