Welcome

I am thrilled to have you as part of the encore team this year! The materials covered in health
will give students important information that will help them make good choices throughout their
lives. The following overview will guide your instruction throughout the trimester.

You will have “view only” access to each of the documents. I invite you to comment and add
suggestions so we can constantly be improving. Please also email me with any concerns and/or
suggestions. I look forward to working with you this year.

Explanation
The format of this curriculum is meant to give you freedom to pursue the topics related to these
topics in a way that is most engaging to your students. This is meant to be a springboard, and
you are welcome to use resources that are not included on this list as long as they are still
meeting academic goals.

Please remember that you are expected to have learning targets each day. Learning targets
have been proven to increase student engagement and learning.
